BALONGAN – Supporting the government in preventing the spread of COVID-19, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Refinery Unit (RU) Balongan held a vaccination for children aged 6-11 years and booster vaccinations for adults which were held together with the Indramayu Regency Government.
This vaccination was for Pertamina RU workers and their families, business partners, and the surrounding community with a target of 1,500 people. Vaccination was carried out for two days on January 28-29 2022, which took place at Pertamina Bumi Patra Indramayu Housing Post 2.
PT KPI RU Balongan Area Manager of Communication, Relations, and CSR, Imam Rismanto, said that this vaccination is a synergy between Pertamina and Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) of Indramayu to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which is currently rising.
"We fully support the policies of the Indramayu Regional Government in preventing the spread of COVID-19," said Imam.
Meanwhile, Health Section Head of Pertamina RU Balongan, dr. Bernardo L Tobing said that participants of this booster injection are at least 6 months away from the second vaccination.
"To prevent Booster AEFI (Adverse Events After Immunization), we urge the participants to be physically healthy, had breakfast, and stick to the health protocols," said dr. Bernardo.
Representing Forkompimda Indramayu, Dandim 0616 Indramayu Lt. Col. Inf. Teguh Wibowo, S.Sos explained that currently, the 1st dose vaccination program in Indramayu Regency has reached 85.81%, 2nd dose is 54.11%, and for 1st dose of children aged 6-11 years has reached 94.52%, while for the new booster it has reached 0.79%.
However, Teguh said that although this vaccination focused on boosters for 1,500 adults and 250 children, people who have not received vaccines 1 and 2 were also allowed to participate in the vaccinations.
According to Teguh, the prevented spread of COVID-19 in Indramayu is also inseparable from the previous vaccinations held by Forkompimda Indramayu together with Pertamina. It is hoped to be continued in the future so that all Indramayu people receive vaccine injections to reduce the risk of infection COVID-19. *SHR&P BALONGAN
