Tangerang, July 15, 2023 - Pertamina has signed a total of 13 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with both internal partners within the Pertamina Group and external partners during the 11th Indonesia New Energy, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation Conference & Exhibition (EBTKE ConEx), from July 12 to 14, 2023, at Ice BSD City, Tangerang, Banten.
Pertamina's collaboration with these partners aimed at low-emission businesses and New Renewable Energy (NRE) development, as well as the innovation and technology used for both businesses. It reflects Pertamina's commitment to the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target by 2060 and the energy transition initiated by the Indonesian Government.
On the first day of the event, PT Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE), PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) Tbk, and the Research Technology and Innovation (RTI) function signed nine MoUs with their respective partners.
Pertamina NRE signed five MoUs, including New and Renewable Energy (NRE) utilization in the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train Station with PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), a Green Ventures Investment Platform MoU with MDI Ventures, a Green Ammonia using Nuclear Energy MoU with Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark, and a collaboration MoU regarding Pipeline for Hydrogen Transportation Utilization to Singapore with PT Transportasi Gas Indonesia. Within the Pertamina Group, Pertamina NRE also signed an MoU on Carbon commercialization in the Geothermal Electricity Production Business equivalent to 40 MW with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga and PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk.
On the first day of EBTKE ConEx, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk signed three MoUs, including Seulawah Geothermal Power Plant 2x55 MW Development with the President Director of PT Pembangunan Aceh (PEMA), a South Sumatera Grid Resources Confirmation MoU for 900 MW with the Chief Representative from Chevron New Energy International Pte Ltd, Siddarth Jain, and a 210 MW Binary Technology MoU with the Chief Representative of KS Orka Renewables Pte. Ltd.
Meanwhile, Research Technology and Innovation function of Pertamina conducted one MoU signing with Mitsui & Co. regarding Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Technology Implementation in Central Sumatera.
During the EBTKE ConEx second day, Pertamina Group signed an additional four MoUs. The signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister I of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), Pahala Nugraha Mansury.
Pertamina NRE signed one MoU on Collaboration for Low-Emission Business Development and NRE with PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. Meanwhile, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy conducted one MoU signing with PT Schlumberger Geophysics Nusantara regarding Enhancing Steam Recovery in PGE's Working Area of 40 MW.
On the other hand, Pertamina's Research Technology and Innovation function signed two MoUs of a study on CO2 capture and utilization at the Balikpapan Refinery with AirLiquide, and Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage in the Donggi Matindok area, in collaboration with Jogmec, Mitsubishi, Panca Amara Utama, and LAPI IT Foundation.
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that all the collaborations established by Pertamina during the EBTKE ConEx event are concrete actions taken by the company to consistently develop NRE businesses and decarbonization programs.
