Jakarta, August 17, 2023 - Commemorating the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Pertamina (Persero) is determined to unite energy to continue progressing and working towards achieving energy resilience that can support the nation's advancement.
This spirit colors the 78th celebration of Indonesia's Independence Day at Pertamina with the theme "Moving Forward for a Prosperous Indonesia," which took place at the Pertamina Headquarters Field in Jakarta on August 17, 2023. The event was attended by the Directorate of Pertamina Holding, Subholding, Pertamina's subsidiaries, affiliates, and officers within the Pertamina Group.
A.Salyadi Saputra, Director of Strategy, Portfolio, and Business Development (SPPU) at Pertamina, who presided over the ceremony, conveyed that this year's theme for Indonesia's Anniversary aims to encourage both Pertamina and the entire Indonesian population to continue their collective growth trajectory, driving the nation's elements to share a sense of responsibility and move harmoniously towards a Prosperous Indonesia.
"As the nation's energy locomotive that consistently plays a role in driving the nation's growth, Pertamina realizes that aligning this energy is not an easy task. Collaborative values are necessary to achieve harmony for the sake of future development. Moreover, Pertamina as an energy provider with a vast presence throughout Indonesia, along with its extensive business and operational lines, has the potential to mirror the collaboration and harmony of Indonesian society in striving for a common goal," he said.
According to Salyadi, the energy to keep advancing from all officers is also the main asset for the company to become a global energy champion. Therefore, all components within Pertamina must remain optimistic, confident and work together to achieve an independent, sovereign, just, and prosperous Indonesia.
Salyadi mentioned that Pertamina achieved several remarkable milestones this year, one of which was Pertamina's position at 141st in the Fortune Global 500 list for 2023.
"This is one of Pertamina's gifts for Indonesia's independence anniversary. This achievement also signifies Pertamina's commitment to facing various global changes, including energy transition and environmental challenges," he added.
Furthermore, Pertamina's ESG rating has reached 2nd globally in the Integrated Oil & Gas sub-industry by Sustainalytics. It demonstrates Pertamina's commitment to achieving the Net Zero Emission 2060 target and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Salyadi emphasized that the company's achievements would not have been possible without the excellent performance of the officers, reflecting the spirit of collaboration and harmony at every level.
