This opportunity was welcomed by "Jeggboy and Girl", a local online motorcycle taxi service in Salatiga, Central Java, that offers shopping services for daily needs without having to leave the house. It starts from shopping for vegetables, fruits, meat, spices, and various other needs, to goods and people delivery services.
According to the owner of Jeggboy & Girl, Sri Sahono, his business brings the concept of "shopping", which means they are ready to help consumers, employees to housewives, shop for their daily needs in traditional and modern markets.
"Initially, Jeggboy & Girl was a manifestation of my desire to help traders in traditional markets, which were increasingly being eroded by modernization, as well as elevating traditional markets so they could survive and grow. Considering that traditional market products' quality was not inferior to modern markets, even the prices were much lower," explained Sri Sahono, Pertamina's Fostered Partner.
Sri Sahono participated in the MSME funding program in 2021. Through this program, Jeggboy and Girl received training to go online as well as assisting with work support tools. "Half of the capital was used to make transportation service applications," conveyed Sahono.
In an average day, Sri Sahono receives around 900-1,000 transactions, 60% of which are shopping orders at markets and fast food, 15% are passenger pick-up services, and the rest are goods delivery services.
As the name implies, Jeggboy & Girl already has 240 active drivers who are ready to serve consumers shopping, 40% of them are female drivers and are under 35 years old. With operating hours from 5 am to 12 pm and a tariff of IDR 2,250 per kilometer. Because Salatiga is a small city, the average one-time service fee is IDR 10,000.
