Jakarta, February 24, 2022 – PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) make another achievement by expanding its business in the international market. On February 15, 2022, the MT Petromax ship successfully exported 150 thousand barrels of oil from the Pangkah Block, Indonesia, to Thailand.
The MT Petromax ship is one of the vessels operated by PIS. The 34,000 DWT vessel has completed the shipment of crude oil exports from the Pangkah Block managed by PT Saka Energi to the Koh Sichang port terminal, Thailand.
This oil export shipment is PIS cooperation agreement result with TIS Petroleum, an oil buyer from the Pangkah Block.
Commanded by Captain Ende Nurjaman with 27 crew, MT Petromax is also the maiden ship used by PIS for shipping oil exports by Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) or domestic oil producers.
Arief K. Risdianto, Director of PIS Operations, said the shipment of crude oil exports was a milestone for the company to be more aggressive in working on markets outside of Pertamina. Of course, the potential is still very large.
"The success of MT Petromax in transporting crude export cargo is proved to PIS' commitment in developing the transportation business. Not only focusing on serving domestic crude and fuel transportation but also trying to compete for the transportation market abroad, by prioritizing services excellence and safety first," he said. Currently, PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) operates around 258 vessels, ranging from Bulk Lighter (capacity 1,000 DWT) to Very Large Crude Carrier (capacity 300,000 DWT).
PIS ships continue to wave the Indonesian flag on the global scene and in international waters.**
