President Director of Pertamina Attends the 79th Independence Day Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN

Jakarta, August 17, 2024 - The President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, attended the 79th Independence Day ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia alongside President Joko Widodo at Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

Nicke stated that Pertamina supports the development of IKN as a superior, advanced, world-class, and environmentally friendly new capital.

"The vision of IKN and the theme of Independence Day, ‘Nusantara Baru Indonesia Maju,' aligns with Pertamina's vision to become a world-class, advanced company that is responsible and environmentally friendly," she said.

Nicke added that Pertamina continues to innovate in the field of renewable energy, which is a promising business for the future. The green energy strategy is one of Pertamina's focuses on meeting energy needs while supporting the Indonesian government's Net Zero Emissions by 2060 target.

According to Nicke, Pertamina supports the success of the Independence Day commemoration at IKN as a new chapter in the journey of the Indonesian nation. As an SOE in the energy sector, Pertamina ensures that the energy needs at IKN are adequately available.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, added that various preparations have been made by Pertamina, including ensuring the availability and distribution of fuel and LPG, supplying gas for the eternal flame, and providing health facilities for the state guests attending the ceremony at IKN.

“To ensure the availability of fuel and LPG in the capital city, Subholding Commercial & Trading has formed a task force for one month, from August 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024,” Fadjar added.

Pertamina has also installed and supplied natural gas to the Kusuma Bangsa Park Monument. The natural gas pipeline at the Nusantara Terrace uses two C-Cyl cylinders with a capacity of 24 m³, which will keep the Eternal Flame burning 24 hours a day. The natural gas use at the Kusuma Bangsa Park Monument supports Pertamina's efforts to make gas cleaner and more environmentally friendly transition energy.

To ensure a stable and reliable energy supply at IKN, Fadjar continued, Subholding Gas has combined pipeline and beyond-pipeline infrastructure built in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) Sub WP 1A and optimized the beyond-pipeline mode using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) transported through Gaslink Cylinders. The installed Shelter's progress has reached 77% of the total 34 Gaslink Cylinder units projected to supply 4,583 m³ of natural gas per month by August 2024.

“Gaslink Cylinders were installed at several strategic locations in IKN, such as Ministerial Residences (RTJM), the State Palace, the Garuda Palace, the Presidential Secretariat office, and various other government facilities,” Fadjar added.

Additionally, he mentioned that Pertamina Bina Medika, a subsidiary within the SOE Hospital Holding (IHC), has also deployed its best medical team to support the 79th Independence Day celebration at IKN. Through Pertamina Balikpapan Hospital in East Kalimantan, Pertamina has prepared an ambulance unit with medical personnel consisting of two general practitioners, three nurses, and one ambulance driver. The medical team, equipped with adequate facilities and equipment, has been on standby at IKN from August 14 to August 18, 2024.

“This medical team will be on standby in the VIP room of the State Palace, equipped with a Mini ICU, specially prepared to serve the medical needs of VIP guests,” Fadjar concluded.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
