Pekanbaru, August 8, 2022 – PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR)'s exceptional performance and success in increasing the Rokan Working Area (WK) production are supported by digital technology and various innovations' application. PHR has an operational control center and big data facility that can monitor field activities in real-time. A facility called the Digital & Innovation Center (DICE) presence plays a significant role in supporting quick and appropriate decision-making.
Head of SKK Migas, Dwi Soetjipto, and President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati inaugurated DICE, located at the Rumbai PHR Complex, Pekanbaru, Monday (8/8/2022). "This strategic step is part of Pertamina's efforts in realizing reliable operations through the Go Digital initiative. This facility is crucial in supporting decision-making quickly and accurately, thus supporting production targets achievements," said Nicke Widyawati in her speech.
DICE is the integration of two PHR digital facilities, namely the War Room and the Integrated Optimization Decision Support Center (IODSC). The facility is equipped with 66 screens that display data and information in a digital dashboard form. It includes drilling activities monitoring; integrated drilling schedule (Integrated Drilling Schedule); drilling locations preparation and oil well facilities construction; and production activities and equipment maintenance management. "In the 4.0 industrial era, the oil and gas industry must innovate through the digital technology application. Efficiency and productivity of operating activities can be achieved by utilizing and processing big data,” said President Director of Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), Budiman Parhusip.
Meanwhile, President Director of PHR, Jaffee A Suardin, said that through this DICE facility, if there are problems in the field, the relevant teams can immediately discuss to find the best solution. It shows Pertamina's Go Collaborative spirit manifestation to achieve productive and efficient upstream oil and gas operations.
"This Digital & Innovation Center facility supports massive and aggressive work plans at Rokan WK, including the program to drill 400 to 500 wells this year," said Jaffee.
PHR also utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology that can be used to set up automatic well workover schedules; more optimal and efficient rig movement planning; sub-optimal pump performance identification; oil flow for optimal production analysis and measurement; as well as remote and integrated monitoring of fluid pressure conditions in oil wells.
On August 9, 2022, Rokan WK marks one year of being managed by PHR. The production level of the second largest oil and gas WK in Indonesia is around 161 thousand BOPD (barrels of oil per day), much better than the 142 thousand BOPD prediction if it does not carry out massive and aggressive activities.
Since the first day of the management transfer, PHR immediately stepped on the gas with a massive and aggressive work plan through the target of drilling 400 to 500 new wells this year. The drilling rigs number increased from 9 rigs to 21 rigs at this time. The number will continue to be increased to 27 rigs by the end of this year. Likewise, the number of rework and well repair rigs (WO/WS), from 25 to 32 WO/WS rigs.**
