Dumai, June 27, 2023 – To anticipate the increasing fuel consumption and as a measure to tighten security coordination ahead of Eid al-Adha 1444 H, PT Kilang PertaminaInternasional (PT KPI) Dumai Unit held a Preparation Briefing for Eid al-Adha 1444 H Security at the DumaiRefinery Security Field on Tuesday (27/6).
R. Cepih HN, the Supervisor of Physical Security of PT KPI Unit Dumai, who directly led this preparation briefing, stated that the event was carried out as a coordination measure for both internal and external parties regarding security measures before and after Eid al-Adha 1444 H.
"The strategic steps in securing assets before Eid al-Adha need to be enhanced by implementing prevention, interception, mitigation, and law enforcement against any threats, disturbances, obstacles, and challenges (AGHT)," he explained.
PT KPI Unit Dumai also prepared other security measures such as CCTV Perimeters installation in over 200 locations, patrol cars, security posts, and even speedboats. Security cooperation has also been established with the Riau Regional Police, Dumai District Military Command, and Dumai Naval Base.
In a separate statement, Agustiawan, the Area Manager of Communication, Relations, & CSR of PT KPI Unit Dumai, explained that Plant Patrols will still be conducted by the management team and section heads during the holiday and collective leave period to ensure that safety aspects are well implemented.
"During the holiday and collective leave period, the Manager on Duty will remain on standby to ensure that operational activities run optimally and fulfill the national fuel requirements," he added.
Agustiawan also conveyed PT KPI Dumai Unit’s commitment to maintain and ensure fuel stock availability during the Eidal-Adha 1444 H period.
As it is known, the Dumai refinery is the third largest oil refinery in Indonesia. The total capacity of the Dumai and SeiPakning refineries reaches 170 MBSD, or equivalent to 16.5% of Pertamina's refinery capacity. The product distribution covers the Northern Sumatera region.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, stated that Pertamina continues to improve the refinery’s reliability to maintain production stability as part of the company's efforts to safeguard national energy resilience and independence.
