Ahead of Elections, Pertamina Increases LPG Stock in Pantura-Madura

Surabaya, February 11, 2024 - To enhance the security and comfort for the community during the democratic celebration and the potential mobility of people engaging in activities during the long weekend holidays, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus (10/2) added a supply of 3kg LPG at the agent and depot levels for Regencies/Cities in Pantura - Madura, East Java, totaling 969 metric tons (MT) or 47.7% from the 2,031 MT daily consumption.

Besides that, additions for the Regencies of Bondowoso, Jember, and Lumajang were made, totaling 124 MT or 8.1% compared to the daily consumption in those three regencies.

Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR, Ahad Rahedi, stated that the increase in certain cities/regencies in East Java is based on the consumption increase and monitoring projection of consumption over the past few weeks. "Other Regencies/Cities where there is no increase in stock are sufficient, considering there has been no significant increase in consumption during these public holidays, and the stock at agents and depots in those areas is capable of meeting the needs for the next few days," Ahad said.

Ahad emphasized that the LPG stock in East Java is in a very safe condition. "The above amount is an extra dropping for Agents/Depots. Meanwhile, for East Java, it is supported by three Main LPG Storage in Surabaya, Gresik, and Banyuwangi, with a total of 15,372 MT, and the average daily consumption is 4,035 metric tons/day," he added.

Ahead of the elections, there is no significant increase in fuel consumption. However, Pertamina still increases the stock for all petrol stations throughout Jatimbalinus by 2% for gasoline and 3% for Gasoil (diesel) because, according to the projection, the consumption increase is not too significant, only 0.9% for gasoline and 1.3% for Gasoil.

"We urge the public to purchase 3kg LPG at Pertamina Official Depots using their ID cards following the Government Circular to support the LPG 3kg Subsidy Program. It is to minimize scarcity. For fuel, we encourage cashless transactions at SPBUs to expedite queues, and to increase convenience, we provide various attractive promotions through the MyPertamina application," Ahad concluded.
