Balkon Fest, A People's Party for Wringinputih Residents

Magelang, July 26, 2023 - To celebrate Village Economic Center (Balkondes) Wringinputih’s New Face, PT Pertamina (Persero) initiated the BalkonFest event on Sunday, July 23. Various activities were presented to enhance the local community's role in supporting Balkondes tourism during the event.

One of these activities was a digital literacy workshop for the surrounding residents. The digital workshop aimed to improve the community’s digital literacy, enabling them to effectively utilize social media as a promotional tool for Balkondes Wringinputih as a tourist destination in Magelang.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, explained that the workshop participants came from the Balkondes Communication Forum throughout Borobudur and young people from the Wringinputih area. "Through workshops like this, we hope to broaden the horizons of the younger generation, helping them understand digital skills better as a means of promotion and ultimately contributing to the Balkondes’ development," said Fadjar.

In addition to the workshop, the Balkon Fest attendees were enthusiastic about exploring the various displayed products. Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were bustling with the sale of food, crafts, jewelry, and accessories, adding excitement to the Balkon Fest event.

One of the MSME owners present was Muhammad Saifuddin, the owner of "Kupat Tahu" (a traditional dish). Saifuddin acknowledged that Balkon Fest was highly beneficial for MSMEs as it provided an opportunity to market their products to the public. Apart from expanding the market share for MSMEs, this event was expected to have a positive impact on the local economy.

"The crowd at Balkon Fest was immense. Many people also showed interest in 'Kupat Tahu,' which is one of the traditional foods. It certainly increased my sales and introduced my product to the public. Thank you, Pertamina, for organizing this event. We, as MSME owners, greatly appreciate the support," said Saifuddin.
