Balongan, August 28, 2024 – The presence of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Balongan Unit must benefit the general public, including the education sector. One form of this benefit is technology transfer, which can be in the form of sharing skills, knowledge, technology, and much more.
Align with this, Balongan Refinery welcomed representatives from the lecturers and management of Indramayu Polytechnic (Polindra) during an industrial visit. The purpose of this event was to establish synergy and collaboration between Balongan Refinery and Polindra through used equipment donation to be utilized as practical tools or learning materials for students.
The Section Head of Workshop for the Maintenance Execution Function at Balongan Refinery, Putu Ayu Hartiningsih, stated that usable equipment from Balongan Refinery would be donated, provided it meets the safety requirements for utilization.
"We hope that the equipment we donate will benefit the campus, enabling them to produce competent graduates who can innovate and fill strategic positions, not only at Balongan Refinery but also elsewhere, advancing domestic industries," Putu said.
Ir. Karsid ST MT, the Vice Director of Student Affairs, Alumni, and Partnerships of Polindra, mentioned that this collaboration is part of the Partnership Ecosystem Strengthening Program, aimed at regional development based on local potential, synergizing partnerships and alignment between vocational education institutions and regional stakeholders.
"With the support from Balongan Refinery, it will enrich the resources needed for vocational education at Polindra," said Karsid.
