April 2, 2023 - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan, through its operating unit Integrated Terminal (IT) Banjarmasin, partnered with the Yayasan Sahabat Bekantan Indonesia (SBI) with the Regent of Barito Kuala inaugurated the Ecotourism Mangrove Rambai Center on Curiak Island, Anjir Muara District, Barito Kuala Regency. This activity coincided with Bekantan Day on March 28, 2023, which was symbolically carried out by cutting the ribbon by the Acting Regent of Barito Kuala Mujiyat accompanied by the Head of the Sabirin Tourism Office, Head of Anjir Muara Jaya Sub-District, Head of Marabahan Baru Village Ali and the Pertamina team (28/3).
The Mangrove Rambai Center Ecotourism Program is a Pertamina IT Banjarmasin CSR program that focuses on community empowerment through community-based ecotourism management and focuses on environmental conservation. The developing process of the Mangrove Rambai Center Ecotourism Program goes through several stages, such as the preparation, implementation and monitoring, and evaluation stages.
Additional to the inauguration ceremony, other activities on the agenda included Klotok Tour Boat assistance delivery to Anjir Serapat Muara Village and Anjir Serapat Muara 1 Village, which was carried out at the Bekantan Research Station on Curiak Island. The Acting Regent of Barito Kuala, Mujiyat, said “This tourism management can be further developed to attract more tourists, which could be through the human resources development in these three villages and also to increase the branding of tourist villages in Barito Kuala Regency.”
The Head of Marabahan Baru Village, Ali, said "We will continue to develop new tourist destinations in this village by continuing to work with two other villages, and we also appreciate Pertamina for supporting our villages so they can develop to such an extent."
On a separate occasion, the IT Manager of Banjarmasin, Andi Indrawan, said "We are committed to supporting environmental preservation programs to protect the natural ecosystems of Borneo's endemic flora and fauna by involving local communities as the main actors who are very influential and affected by the program."
In a separate location, the Area Manager Comm, Rail & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan, Arya Yusa Dwicandra, said that "This environmental preservation is one of the company's Environmental Social Responsibilities that synergize and support the Government in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, especially number 15, namely Protecting, Restoring and Increasing the Sustainable Use of Terrestrial Ecosystems, Managing Forests in a Sustainable Way, Stop Desertification, Restore Land Degradation and Stop the Loss of Biodiversity. This program opens space and roads for three surrounding tourist villages. Namely, Anjir Serapat Muara Village, Anjir Serapat Muara 1 Village, and Marabahan Baru Village.”**
