Semarang, April 20, 2023 - Ahead of the 1444 H Eid al-Fitr, the number of homecoming vehicles passing through the Trans Java Toll Road continues to increase, and fuel consumption also increases. To inspect Pertamina's readiness, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif, accompanied by the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, and Central Java Governor, Ganjar Pranowo, visited several petrol stations to check fuel’s readiness and availability along the Central Java homecoming route.
"We see that Pertamina provides sufficient fuel stock at several petrol stations, and its management is good. In addition, the petrol station operator's skills are also great, so that travelers who want to fill fuel do not have to wait long," said Arifin at the Rest Area KM 456 Petrol Station, Salatiga, Semarang Regency, Central Java, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.
Anticipating the Eid al-Fitr homecoming, Pertamina prepares Modular Petrol Stations or Fuel Kiosks to reduce vehicle queues.
Through Pertamina's efforts, Arifin believes that Pertamina’s fuel supply during this year’s Eid al-Fitr holiday is ready.
"Pertamina is ready! InshaAllah ready. We ensure that the upstream side is safe so the supply downstream can be guaranteed. If the peak of the homecoming flow can be handled properly, InshaAllah, we can handle it together," said Arifin.
On this occasion, Governor Ganjar expressed his gratitude for the sufficient fuel availability in his area.
"Thank you, Pertamina, for inspecting in Central Java in terms of availability, it is sufficient, and in terms of speed (filling), it is also great because we need super-fast service. Therefore, it does not become part of the congestion during the peak of the Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow," said Ganjar.
Nicke said that Central Java received special attention. According to her, based on historical data, Central Java travelers are the highest. "For that reason, Pertamina ensures its fuel availability," said Nicke.
On this occasion, Nicke conveyed Pertamina's efforts to ensure fuel stocks’ availability during the homecoming flow.
"To reduce congestion or queues at petrol stations, Pertamina added temporary Modular Petrol Stations. Moreover, the motorcyclists will deliver fuel in containers. It is to anticipate if travelers run out of fuel in the middle of the trip. Just call 135, then share the location, our motorcyclists will come and fill the fuel," explained Nicke.
This year, Pertamina prepares additional supply for almost all types of products, especially in anticipating the predicted peak period that will occur from April 1 to May 9, 2023. Pertamina projects that there will be a 3% increase in LPG demand, a 10.3% increase in Gasoline fuel, and a 7.35% increase in Avtur. Meanwhile, Gasoil fuel is estimated to decrease by 8.7% from normal conditions.
Precautions are also taken by preparing additional facilities compared to 2022. In addition to providing 402 drivers, Pertamina increased the 24-hour emergency petrol stations from 1,370 to 1,505, and the emergency LPG agents from 4,239 to 5,471. For areas with no petrol stations, Pertamina installed additional units, namely Siaga Pertamina Kiosks, similar to the Pertashop ,which only had 37 points, but now increased to 44 points. To prepare a reserve fuel supply, Pertamina also prepared standby tank trucks, increasing from 144 units to 201 units.**
