Jakarta, April 26, 2023 - Pertamina, together with other state-owned enterprises (SOEs) that are members of the TJSL Forum of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, collaborated to provide communal sanitation assistance in the form of a septic tank to residents of Rawa Barat Subdistrict, South Jakarta, specifically in RT 02 RW 02. The septic tank has been completed and was symbolically handed over to the community representatives on Monday, April 17, 2023.
The Executive Director of the TJSL Forum of SOEs, I Gede Arimbawa Yasa, said that this is a collaboration of four SOEs to carry out the environmental pillar program. Not only SOEs, the local government also welcomed the program.
"The collaborating SOEs are Pertamina, Mind ID, PLN, and Biofarma. The local government also welcomed the program by providing information on the location of residents who need the communal septic tank. It will certainly reduce environmental pollution and minimize the direct disposal of waste into the river. We hope this assistance can be utilized to improve the community's quality of life," he said.
The Head of RT02 RW 02, Malik, expressed his gratitude to all the SOEs involved in the communal septic tank constrution.
"There are six beneficiary buildings, which consists of 9 households and 25 people. We hope to be an example for others to motivate residents to apply a clean and healthy lifestyle in their daily lives," said Malik.
Vice President of CSR and SMEPP Management at Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, stated that this program is one of several programs of the environmental pillar of the TJSL forum. Pertamina will also hold other activities such as sanitation in several regions in Indonesia, biodiversity programs such as tree planting, fauna conservation, and coastal area development programs in the form of tourism villages.
"We consistently implement these activities in the TJSL forum, especially in the environmental pillar, and aim to ensure sustainability and community participation. Hopefully, what we do can benefit the Indonesian people," she added.
Through the implementation of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all operational areas, Pertamina continuously supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially point six, on clean water and sanitation by ensuring that the community has access to clean water and sanitation and point 15 on the protection, restoration, and sustainable development of ecosystems.**
