Jakarta, August 12, 2023 - Celebrating the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and PT Pertamina (Persero) held an MSME Bazaar (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) at Sarinah Building, Jakarta from August 11 to 14, 2023. The SME Bazaar aims to expand MSMEs' market share and stimulate community-based economic growth.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, stated that the event "MSME Bazaar for Indonesia" reflects the commitment and support of the SOEs Ministry in empowering regional MSMEs, thereby promoting economic growth. This event is expected to provide opportunities for MSME entrepreneurs to showcase innovative and distinctive products.
"We appreciate this event as it can broaden the market for MSMEs to reach a wider consumer base. Apart from such bazaars, Pertamina proactively involves our fostered MSMEs in international-scale MSME exhibitions," he said.
The MSME Bazaar activity is organized by the Ministry of SOEs every month since January 2023. The event is participated in by SOEs-fostered MSMEs in rotation throughout 2023. In August, it is Pertamina and PT Angkasa Pura II's turn to present their fostered MSMEs.
The opening of the Pertamina and Angkasa Pura II SME Bazaar at Sarinah Jakarta on Saturday (8/12) was attended by Loto Srinaita Ginting, Financial and MSME Development Advisor to the Ministry of SOEs; Muhammad Awaluddin, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II; Agus Mashud, President Director of Pertamina Foundation; and Fajriyah Usman, Vice President of CSR & SMEPP Program of Pertamina, along with the board of directors of SOEs.
"This exhibition is an effort by the Ministry of SOEs and SOEs to accelerate the national economic recovery through real sector economic growth supported by MSMEs," added Fadjar.
In the Independence Day MSME Bazaar, Pertamina presents 62 of its assisted MSMEs, along with the Rumah BUMN Pertamina and Pertamina Foundation, featuring fashion, craft, F&B, and beauty products.
"They present flagship products that carry the local wisdom of their respective regions, competing with quality. The richness and cultural diversity of Indonesia is reflected in the creative products produced by these MSMEs," said Fadjar.
Fadjar further mentioned that Pertamina continues to encourage and facilitate MSME entrepreneurs in promoting their products through various exhibitions, both domestically and internationally.
He added that MSMEs are one of Pertamina's Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs for community empowerment and economic improvement. It is one of Pertamina's efforts to become a sustainable company, contributing positively to society.
