Commemorating National Children's Day, Pertamina Encourages Indonesian Children to Care about Sustainability from an Early Age

Jakarta, July 23, 2024 - On National Children's Day, which falls on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, PT Pertamina (Persero) invites Indonesian children, including the Pertamina Group employees children, to raise awareness about the sustainability efforts importance from an early age. These children are involved in educating and inspiring the public about sustainability actions and innovations implemented in daily life through social media platforms.

At Pertamina, children's concern for the environment is reflected in the works of Indonesian children participating in the Pertamina Teens Changemakers 2024. Pertamina Teens Changemakers 2024 is an innovation and sustainability competition for the children of Pertamina employees, encouraging them to engage in sustainability efforts. The innovative works are published on their and the parents' social media, promoting a campaign for children across Indonesia to follow suit.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina provides a platform for the young generation, the future leaders, to contribute to their surroundings, including through sustainability actions or innovations.

“We start with our closest environment, the families of Pertamina employees. We want to educate children to care for nature and their surroundings from an early age to ensure their sustainability in the future. The culture to maintain sustainability will be passed down from generation to generation,” Fadjar said.

Fadjar added that sustainability means meeting the current needs without compromising the rights of future generations to meet their own needs.

“Sustainability seeks to build an inclusive, sustainable future for people and the earth and to start understanding this from an early age,” Fadjar added.
