Sorong, August 28, 2024 – SKK Migas and Pertamina EP Papua Field (PEP Papua), part of Zone 14, Eastern Indonesia Region, Pertamina’s Upstream Sub-holding, are committed to developing the local workforce in Sorong through training and educational activities. One such activity is forklift operation training for 30 local Sorong residents, sponsored by the Sorong Regency Manpower Office on Monday (26/8/2024).
The training held at the PEP Papua SCM area covered Pertamina’s Corporate Life Saving Rules (CLSR) and standard operating procedures for forklift operations.
The Head of the Training and Workforce Productivity Department of the Sorong Regency Manpower Office, Feni Su, sees significant potential for collaboration with PEP Papua in developing the local human resources in Papua. "We have visited PEP Papua's HSSE Demo Room facilities, which are excellent. We discussed with the Papua Field Manager about exploring these facilities' utilization to provide training on occupational health and safety (OHS) for prospective local workers in Papua. Hopefully, the Manpower Office and PEP Papua will continue collaborating," said Feni.
The Papua Field Manager, Muslim Nugraha, expressed PEP Papua's commitment to managing oil and gas fields in Papua while prioritizing health, safety, security, and environmental aspects in their operations.
