Committed to Present Energy, Pertamina Holds RI Anniversary Ceremony at Cilacap Refinery

Cilacap, August 17, 2022 - PT Pertamina (Persero) held a Ceremony for the 77th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the Cilacap Refinery Unit (RU) IV Refinery. President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, said that the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day commemoration this time was momentum for Pertamina's commitment to be present in providing energy for the country so that Indonesia could rise stronger.

This independence ceremony took place at Lomanis Square, RU IV Cilacap Refinery Office, Central Java, Wednesday (17/8/2022). The ceremony was attended by 360 participants and this activity was also held virtually. Nicke Widyawati acted as the ceremony supervisor.

In her speech, Nicke conveyed the message of independence. The theme chosen this year is 'Energy to Rise Stronger', a derivative of the grand theme of the 77th Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day, 'Recover Faster, Rise Stronger'.

"The theme chosen is Pertamina's commitment to always be there for Indonesia in providing energy and energizing this nation so that it can rise stronger for this nation," said Nicke.

During the pandemic, Nicke said that the company has adapted and transformed well in all sectors to maintain energy security. Now Pertamina's spirit and energy are better, more recently developed with a combination of the spirit of 'Energizing Your Future' following Pertamina's theme and moral values ​​that are ready to support Indonesia to become a champion in the world's eyes.

“Energy from officers is the company's main asset to become a global energy champion. We are always optimistic, confident, work together, and trust each other to achieve Indonesia's goals, namely independence, sovereign justice, and prosperity," said Nicke.

Meanwhile, the President Commissioner of Pertamina, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, present virtually, also gave an independence message to Pertamina officers. In his message, he emphasized the transformation for cost optimization matter.

“As a state-owned enterprise engaged in the energy sector, we have a responsibility for the power of transformation to optimize costs. For this reason, we have to take this good opportunity to digitize our business lines. Therefore, Pertamina can provide big profits to realize social justice for all Indonesian people," said Basuki.**
