Jakarta, October 5, 2024 – On the second day of the International Handicraft Trade Fair (Inacraft) in Jakarta, Pertamina fostered MSMEs recorded transactions exceeding IDR 1 billion. Inacraft, one of the largest handicraft exhibitions in Southeast Asia, has become a golden opportunity for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their top products on the global market.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina consistently supports its fostered MSMEs as part of efforts to develop community businesses. As seen at this Inacraft exhibition, creative products from Pertamina fostered MSMEs have attracted interest from both domestic and international visitors.
"In the first two days of the Inacraft exhibition, Pertamina MSMEs have successfully achieved worth more than IDR 1 billion transactions. It is tangible proof that our local products are high quality and competitive in the international market," Fadjar said.
Pertamina consistently carries out its corporate social responsibility program by empowering MSMEs across Indonesia. Participation in Inacraft October 2024 is one form of real support for MSMEs to grow and penetrate wider markets. This year, Pertamina brought 20 MSMEs from various regions in Indonesia, featuring top products focused on uniqueness and local wisdom.
One of Pertamina’s MSMEs, Sutedjo, owner of Sekar Mukti Craft in Bantul, Yogyakarta, expressed his joy in participating in this exhibition. "I am grateful to be fostered by Pertamina, which has helped my business grow to where it is today, all thanks to the guidance provided by Pertamina," he said.
Sutedjo revealed that Pertamina has been supporting his business since 2009, helping him learn how to manage his business while providing financial training and access to improve product quality and expand the market. Now, his business competes at the national level and has even entered international markets, showcasing products in Dubai and South Africa, with all exhibition costs covered by Pertamina.
Through Pertamina’s exhibitions, Sutedjo shared that he could help fund his second child's special needs treatment. Additionally, his production involves empowering underprivileged communities, including those with hearing and speech impairment.
Fadjar added through its MSME Partnership Program, Pertamina provides intensive mentoring and training to MSMEs from various sectors, supporting capital and creating exhibition opportunities domestically and abroad. It is expected to improve the MSMEs' products and services quality, allowing them to advance and become export-ready.
