Jakarta, November 1, 2023 - The Pertamina Digital Expo 2023 (DigiExpo) officially opened on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Kasablanka Hall, Jakarta. Held for two days until November 2, 2023, the DigiExpo event serves as a meeting point and hub for digital partners and practitioners alongside proficient experts from various companies. The Pertamina DigiExpo also showcases a technological transformation exhibition, not only encompassing Pertamina’s technologies but also involving various business players.
Present at the opening were the Assistant Deputy of Information Technology of Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), Muhammad Rizal Kamal, Director of Business Support of PT Pertamina (Persero), Erry Widiastono, the board of commissioners and directors of Pertamina Group's sub-holding, as well as several executives from other companies.
Director of Business Support, Erry Widiastono, expressed Pertamina's understanding of business transformation's importance for business development. At Pertamina, business transformation has been implemented and proven to bring significant benefits, such as cost reduction, increased efficiency and effectiveness, and faster business process facilitation.
"Digital transformation is a crucial step in changing how oil and gas industry operates, especially Pertamina, in its day-to-day operations. The digital transformation adopted by Pertamina also brings value in cost optimization," he stated during the Pertamina Digital Expo 2023 opening.
Erry explained that in 2022, Pertamina's digital transformation yielded a value creation of USD 441 million for the company. Additionally, there was a value creation contributed to the country worth USD 36.8 million.
Digital transformation also fulfills societal needs, as demonstrated by Pertamina in the Digital Gas Station Program. This program is Pertamina's effort to monitor the volume of fuel in each region of Indonesia, enabling Pertamina to direct subsidized fuel accurately.
The significance of digitalization is also acknowledged by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, where one of the current priority programs is the Technology Leadership Program. M Rizal Kamal, Assistant Deputy of Technology and Information of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, added that State-Owned Enterprises have undergone a 4-year transformation. Technology leadership becomes the way for State-Owned Enterprises to globally lead in strategic technology and institutionalize digital capabilities such as data management, big data, artificial intelligence, and more.
Pertamina DigiExpo involves digital practitioners and experts in discussions through panel sessions. Among them, PT Indosat Ooredoo Hutchinson, PT Telkom Tbk, and McKinsey will participate.
Digital experts set to attend include Astra Internasional, Jakarta Smart City, PT KAI, Biofarma, and PT Bank Mandiri Tbk. Moreover, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Oil and Gas Business Huawei, and Digital Technology Observer Ade Rai will be present.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, added that the Pertamina Digital Expo is part of Pertamina's Digital Transformation Initiative launched in 2018.
