Jakarta, October 29, 2024 - Pertamina Small and Medium Enterprises Exhibition (SMEXPO) 2024 has recorded transactions reaching IDR 17.45 billion. This trade transaction from Pertamina's fostered MSMEs has grown by 17.09% compared to the 2023 revenue of IDR 14.9 billion. The increase in transaction volume strengthens the empowerment of MSMEs, which is expected to drive economic growth.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that a total of IDR 1.53 Billion came from the MSME exhibition for the public (retail), held over six days from October 22-27, 2024, at Kota Kasablanka Mall in Jakarta. The remaining IDR 15.91 billion originated from business-to-business (B2B) trade, which involves agreements for large-scale purchases.
“The increase in MSME transactions reflects public confidence in the quality of products from Pertamina's fostered MSMEs," said Fadjar during the closing session of Pertamina SMEXPO on Sunday (October 27, 2024).
Pertamina SMEXPO 2024, themed "Local Becomes Vocal," featured 45 Pertamina's fostered MSMEs across various product categories, including fashion, food and beverages, handicrafts, and innovative technology-based products. In addition to buying and selling activities, the exhibition was enriched with a series of creative workshops and inspirational talk shows that add value to the capacity development of MSME actors.
"The success of SMEXPO 2024 is not only measured by transaction values but also by the formation of a business ecosystem that supports MSME growth. During the SMEXPO event, we also held workshops and talk shows to enhance the capacity and knowledge of Pertamina's fostered MSME actors so they can improve their product quality and competencies to compete in a broader market," explained Fadjar.
Over 9,000 visitors attended the six-day SMEXPO event, which indicates a strong public interest in local MSME products. Visitors did not only come from the general public but also from business actors and potential buyers from domestic and international markets, who intentionally came to explore collaboration opportunities with Pertamina-supported MSMEs.
This event, now in its fourth year, is part of Pertamina's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which has been running since 2020. SMEXPO serves not only as a marketing platform but also facilitates the growth of MSMEs through various mentoring and capacity-building programs.
The success of SMEXPO 2024 is a tangible manifestation of Pertamina's role in driving national economic growth through MSME empowerment. This event not only directly boosts MSME revenues but also opens up opportunities for business expansion through broader partnership networks.
"Pertamina is committed to continuously supporting the growth of national MSMEs. The success of SMEXPO 2024 motivates us to introduce more innovative empowerment programs in the future," concluded Fadjar.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina’s business lines and operations.**
