During Ramadan, Pertamina RU VI Mosque Complex Provides Iftar for Hundreds of People Every Day
Indramayu, April 3, 2023 - Many people are involved in getting blessings in Ramadan, such as sharing Iftar, including PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Refinery Unit VI Balongan.
The free Iftar daily distribution is carried out at the Masjid Sabilul Muttaqien Perumahan Bumi Patra in the Pertamina RU VI Balongan Workers’ Housing Complex. This Iftar sharing is carried out through the RU VI Islamic Propagation Agency (BDI).
Not less than 150 people every day, members of the community and students who live around the Bumi Patra housing area, enjoyed the iftar meals provided by the committee, such as drinks, dates, fruit, and snacks to break the fast, as well as rice boxes for dinner.
The Area Manager Communication, Relations, and CSR of PT KPI RU VI Balongan, Mohamad Zulkifli, explained the free Iftar distribution for people who fast at the Pertamina RU VI Balongan worker housing complex's mosque is an annual program during Ramadan held through BDI with funding sources from the RU VI workers.
"Alhamdulillah, from 167 donors, the total donation we received for the Iftar provision was IDR 91,700,000," Zulkifli said.
Zulkifli explained from the first Ramadan (March 23, 2023) to the eleventh Ramadan (April 2, 2023) at the Masjid Sabilul Muttaqin Bumi Patra, more than 1,600 Iftar rice boxes were distributed.
Additional to sharing Iftar, another Ramadan program, namely the rice Zakat distribution for Pertamina RU VI Balongan workers, also went smoothly. Out of more than 15 tonnes of rice zakat from RU VI workers, 6,500 kg of rice has been distributed to 1,300 elderly/underprivileged and poor Mustahik in 9 villages.
"We will complete the rice zakat distribution to more than three thousand people who are entitled to receive it before Eid al-Fitr," Zulkifli said.
Furthermore, the sharing program in Ramadan 1444 H will benefit orphans starting on April 4 to coincide with the Safari Ramadan agenda for the Directors of PT KPI and the Commissioner of Pertamina.
Zulkifli hopes that sharing in Ramadan can provide blessings for all workers and the community as well as give protection and safety for the Pertamina Balongan Refinery operations.**
