Jakarta, August 27, 2020 - Pertamina won an award at the 2020 GATRA Award for continuing to implement the Goal 8 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Pertamina's sustainability in implementing SDGs can be seen from the support of inclusive and sustainable economic growth as well as a full and productive workforce, which is expected to help people get decent jobs and encourage national economic growth, Thursday (27/8).
The event which was held by Gatra Media Group raised the theme of the Nusantara Icon "Inovasi Unggul Merah Putih (Merah Putih Superior Innovation)." Pertamina won an award in the category "Innovation in Rising MSMEs through Sustainable Support." The award was given because Pertamina was considered to have participated in increasing capacity and encouraging the independence of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia in a sustainable manner.
President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, said that the empowerment of MSMEs is carried out through the Partnership Program. "Pertamina realizes this role as a form of service and care for the community. This program has been implemented since 1993, and has distributed partnership assistance to more than 63 thousand fostered partners spread from Sabang to Merauke," she explained.
This number will continue to increase, along with Pertamina's efforts to assist the government in recovering the national economy, due to the impact of the Covid-19 virus pandemic with the independence of small and medium enterprises. "We hope this can help the joints of the national economy return to normal," she added.
President Director of Gatra Media Group, Hendri Firzani added, Gatra Media Group will be a partner for the government to build the country. According to him, many parties collaborate in their ways and various fields, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. For this reason, this award needs to be given to appreciate the hard work of the parties involved. "Their positive contribution is in the form of ideas and programs that have been realized in recent times in the struggle to develop Indonesia by empowering the abilities and work of the nation's children," said Hendri.
Also giving a virtual speech, the Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly, Bambang Soesatyo, and the Minister of Research and Technology Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Bambang P.S. Brodjonegoro. Meanwhile, the previous award trophy was received by the President Director of PT. Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati.
Apart from giving awards, the Anugrah Gatra 2020 event was also enlivened with virtual talk shows from several speakers. Some of them are Arya Dwi Paramita, Vice President of CSR & SMEPP of PT Pertamina (Persero), Hedy Rahadian, Director General of Bina Marga, and Amin Soebandrio, Chair of the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology. It was closed with a virtual appearance from Bunga Citra Lestari. **
