Jakarta, October 2, 2023 - Since 2017, President Joko Widodo's government has taken bold steps by establishing fuel distribution centers in the 3T regions (Outermost, Frontier, and Disadvantaged) by implementing one-price fuel for motor vehicles (fuel) throughout Indonesia. Through the policy known as the One-Price Fuel Program, the government, through the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, aims to promote fairness for all Indonesian citizens, especially in terms of energy availability.
In the initial roadmap, the One-Price Fuel Program, which ran from 2017 to 2019, targeted 150 distribution facilities. However, the significant benefits enjoyed by the communities in the 3T regions have motivated the government, with Pertamina as a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE), to expand the program until 2024.
"Pertamina will continue to support the government's efforts to distribute fuel to communities in the 3T regions, enabling them to purchase subsidized fuel at the same price as other regions’ petrol stations (SPBU)," said Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso.
Fadjar explained that as of September 2023, Pertamina had established One-Price Fuel distribution centers in 472 locations, including 71 points in Sumatera, five points in Java and Bali, 96 points in Kalimantan, 70 points in Maluku, 87 points in Nusa Tenggara, and 94 points in Papua.
By the end of 2024, this program is expected to reach 573 locations.
In addition to distributing Specific Fuel Oil Types (JBT) and Special Assignment Specific Fuel Oil Types (JBKP), Fadjar added that these distribution centers can also sell other high-quality fuel products such as Pertamax, Dex Series, and non-subsidized Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) products like Bright Gas and 12 Kg LPG cylinders.
Currently, he further mentioned, Pertamina, through its Subholding Commercial & Trading, is developing the One-Price Fuel Program through two approaches: accelerating the construction of One-Price Fuel centers through acceleration equipment and enhancing fuel station facilities reliability in the form of Mini Petrol Stations and Pertamina Shops (Pertashop).
"As a State-Owned Enterprise, Pertamina fulfills its legal mandate to provide energy throughout the nation based on availability, accessibility, affordability, acceptability, and sustainability principle," conveyed Fadjar.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
