Erick Thohir Appreciates Pertamina, Achieves 8 Awards at BCOMSS 2024

Jakarta, March 8, 2024 - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Erick Thohir appreciates PT Pertamina (Persero) for its role in communication and sustainability in Indonesia. At the BUMN Corporate Communication and Sustainability Summit (BCOMSS) 2024 held by the Ministry of SOE, Pertamina received eight awards, including the highest award, the "Best of The Best Sustainability."

The awards were presented by the Minister of SOE, Erick Thohir, to the Director of Human Resources of Pertamina, M. Erry Sugiharto, as well as the Vice President of Corporate Communications, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, and the Vice President of CSR & SMEPP, Fajriyah Usman.

In his speech, the Minister of SOE, Erick Thohir, appreciated SOE while encouraging them to continue their role in economic growth, including ensuring transparency in information. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of implementing targeted CSR programs, environmental conservation, and SOE support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

"We continue to transform, not being satisfied with today's results. Acceleration must happen because the challenges ahead are very complex," he said during the BCOMSS 2024 opening at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta (7/3).

Similarly, Special Staff III of the Minister of SOE, Arya Sinulingga, appreciated Pertamina, which won many awards at this event. "BCOMSS is dominated by Pertamina because its (sustainability) programs are systematic and structured, proving that with serious work, everything can move forward. Its CSR communication aspect is also excellent. Having clear targets can serve as an example for SOE and other companies. We hope for even greater progress next year," he explained.

Vice President for Corporate Communication of Pertamina added Pertamina, as an SOE, must benefit society and drive the national economy, especially in the energy sector. Pertamina's communication role is to convey messages so the programs can be accepted by the public.

He added that Pertamina's TJSL program is to have an impact on the economic and energy independence in Indonesia. Currently, Pertamina focuses on implementing independent energy village programs, one of the TJSL Pertamina highlights programs. By the end of 2023, there were already 85 programs running across Indonesia, reducing carbon emissions by more than 700 thousand tons of CO2, benefiting over 300 thousand recipients.

"Pertamina once again received the Best of The Best Sustainability award. It reflects that the TJSL program and Pertamina's communication continue to improve and have a positive impact accepted by the public," Fadjar explained.
