Denpasar - Bali, July 8, 2023 - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), Erick Thohir, stated that PT Pertamina Bina Medika - Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC) / State-Owned Hospital Holding plays a crucial role in building the Indonesian healthcare ecosystem.
He made this statement during a visit to the Bali International Hospital (BIH) project in the Health Special Economic Zone (KEK), Sanur, Bali. [6/7/2023]
"This will attract the Diaspora to return to Indonesia, and there are already about ten Diaspora members who have registered. Moreover, it will also serve as a meeting place for Indonesian doctors to upgrade and intervene the two million Indonesians seeking medical treatment abroad. That is why we hope that hospitals in this Health KEK will become a new tourist destination for the Indonesian people," said Minister Erick.
On the same occasion, the President Director of IHC, Dr. Mira Dyah Wahyuni, MARS, stated that BIH would be supported by medical personnel, including specialist doctors, sub-specialists, nurses, and experienced medical support staff. Diaspora medical personnel are also involved in joining BIH. Furthermore, the progress in fulfilling the demand for doctors has reached 70%, which also involves the Diaspora.
"We also provide on-the-job training and fellowships for healthcare professionals who will serve at BIH to enhance their competence by placing them in several hospitals such as Dharmais Hospital, Harapan Kita Hospital, and the National Brain Center (PON), as well as deploying some doctors to Singapore and Malaysia," she further explained.
Dr. Mira also presented to the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, regarding the collaboration with Mayo Clinic as the best hospital in the world to provide the best quality of internationally standard healthcare for the Indonesian people.
