Dumai, April 8, 2024 - In anticipation of the long Eid al-Fitr 1445 H holiday, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (PT KPI) tightens factory security and commits to ensuring the sufficient production and supply of fuel. It was proven in the Eid al-Fitr Security Preparation Briefing held in collaboration with the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) and the Dumai District Police at the Security Field on Wednesday (4/4).
R. Cepih HN, the Supervisor Physical of Security of PT KPI Unit Dumai, who led this preparation briefing, stated that this joint briefing is conducted as a coordination step for internal and external parties regarding security strategies before and after the Eid al-Fitr 1445 H.
"The security level and vigilance will be deployed for 24 hours. Additionally, we will enhance intelligence levels to monitor and detect any deemed necessary incidents. Furthermore, security measures will be optimized according to standard operating procedures," explained R. Cepih HN.
He also added that these measures ensure that all security preparations are well-organized to prevent disruptions to the factory's operations, such as fireworks during the Takbiran night.
Furthermore, PT KPI Dumai Unit also prepares other security measures such as setting up Perimeter CCTV at more than 200 points, patrol cars, security posts, and speedboats. Security cooperation has also been established with the TNI, the Police, the Dumai Fire Department (Damkar Dumai), and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) for Eid al-Fitr 1445 H.
In a separate location, Agustiawan, the Area Manager of Communication, Relations, & CSR of PT KPI Dumai Unit, stated that during the holiday and collective leave periods, Plant Patrols will still be conducted by the management team and Section Heads to ensure that safety aspects are properly implemented.
"During the Eid al-Fitr holiday and collective leave period, Plant Patrols and Duty Managers will be on standby to supervise, direct, and make strategic operational decisions for the factory. It is to ensure that operational activities run optimally and fulfill the national fuel needs as per the established production targets," he explained.
Agustiawan also stated its commitment to maintaining and guaranteeing fuel production and supply during this Eid al-Fitr 1445 H period.
As it is known, the Dumai refinery is the third largest oil processing refinery in Indonesia. The total capacity of the Dumai and Sei Pakning refineries reaches 170 MBSD, with 150 MBSD for the Dumai refinery and 50 MBSD for Sei Pakning. It is equivalent to 16% of the total refinery capacity owned by PT KPI. Product distribution covers the Northern Sumatra region.
Additionally, throughout Ramadan, Management Walkthroughs (MWT) are routinely conducted by the Directors and the Management Team of PT KPI Dumai Unit.
For instance, a working visit was conducted by the Infrastructure Project Director of PT KPI, Kadek Ambara Jaya, last Thursday (4/4). During this visit, the Infrastructure Project Director of PT KPI, with the management team of PT KPI Headquarters, visited to ensure the refinery’s readiness and reliability.
"The Dumai unit refinery is reliable enough to maintain the national fuel supply, especially for the Northern Sumatra region. Thus, the public does not need to worry and can remain safe and comfortable during the homecoming season," concluded Kadek Ambarjaya.
Not stopping there, the GM of PT KPI Dumai Unit also took the time to conduct a working visit to the Sei Rokan Water Treatment Plant (WTP) last Saturday (6/4) to ensure that the water supply is well-controlled to guarantee the proper operation of the Dumai and Sei Pakning refineries.
