Followed by 2,559 Submissions, Pertamina Announces 19 National Winners of AJP 2023

Yogyakarta, December 16, 2023 – Pertamina held its annual event, the Anugerah Jurnalistik Pertamina (AJP) 2023. The AJP 2023 awards announced 19 national winners from 2,559 submissions at the Tentrem Hotel Ballroom in Yogyakarta on Friday, December 15, 2023.

Brahmantya S. Poerwadi, Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina (Persero), mentioned an increasing submission over the years. There were 2,364 submissions in 2022, to 2,423 submissions in 2022, and reaching 2,559 submissions in 2023. AJP 2023, themed "Energizing The Nation," involves the national and local media. Journalistic works eligible for participation were those containing beneficial information for the public, proportional, educating the public, based on accurate data and facts, and meeting journalistic standards.

"We evaluate these awards from 10 territories in 6 categories from 2,559 submissions. It signifies an increase. We express extraordinary appreciation for the excellent collaboration between Pertamina and national media, where we consistently receive inputs from journalists and media broadcasting news related to Pertamina," he stated.

Ninik Rahayu, Chairman of the Press Council and the Chairman of the AJP 2023 Jury expressed high appreciation to Pertamina for honoring the press' work in the AJP event every year. It serves as a platform for collaboration and synergy in providing information about energy in Indonesia.

"This is a collaborative platform, a synergy between Pertamina and the press regarding openness to information about energy in Indonesia. Pertamina not only embraces national journalists but also local journalists. So, distance is not a barrier to continue providing journalistic works for the public," Ninik said.

Nicke Widyawati, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), mentioned that Pertamina has just celebrated its 66th anniversary. It marks a long journey, and the media plays a crucial role as one of the essential stakeholders for this energy company.

"In these 66 years, there are many stories and a lot of positive information shared by the media. Thanks to the media that have helped tell Pertamina's story for 66 years from upstream to downstream. One of the gifts is Pertamina was ranked number one globally in the ESG Ranking sub-category of integrated oil and gas. It is an extraordinary achievement and inseparable from the media that reported to the public that we reached this point. Congratulations to all the winning journalists, and for those who have not won, stay motivated. We continue to provide the best information to the public," she added.

The Best of The Best AJP 2023 winner is Kekson Fole Salukh from Victory News with the article titled “Oase Di Pelosok Pulau Timor Itu Bernama Pertashop”. He expressed great joy, stating that winning the Best of The Best was a moment he had been waiting for.

"I am happy that God has answered my prayers. Honestly, although I have previously won awards as a journalist both locally and nationally, winning the best of the best is a first for me. It is the moment I have been waiting for. I thank Pertamina for allowing Indonesian journalist to present their best works for Pertamina Persero," he concluded.
