Jakarta, September 25, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero) showcased hundreds of products from 13 fostered MSMEs from various regions in Indonesia at The 21st China ASEAN Expo 2024 (CAEXPO 2024), an event participated in by ten ASEAN countries and China. The 7th China-ASEAN Summit result exhibition is being held from September 24–28, 2024, at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre (NICEC), Nanning Guangxi, China.
Pertamina's participation in this exhibition is expected to be a strategic step in promoting the leading products of its fostered MSMEs in the international market.
The 13 MSMEs fostered by Pertamina that are showcasing hundreds of their products at CAEXPO 2024 include Fish Skin, Mutiara Gitbay, D'etnick Istana Mutiara, Evi Sobag, Loyok Kreatif, Persona Handicraft, Soulmate Bedsheet, Mandiri Craft, Dade Craft, Adhimas Handycraft, Woodeco, Bali Ayu, and Bali Pure. These national MSME products have undergone a rigorous curation process to be featured in this exhibition.
One of the flagship products participating is Mutiara Gitbay, which showcases jewelry combining pearls, gold, and silver. D'etnick Istana Mutiara also presents ethnic jewelry with designs inspired by local culture. The beauty of the pearls embedded in each handmade ring, necklace, and earring collection has consistently captivated consumers, including those from the global market.
Mardyana Listyowati, the Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade, expressed pride in Pertamina's efforts. "After touring Pertamina’s fostered MSME products, I am proud of Pertamina for empowering its MSMEs to become competitive exporters abroad, thus contributing to national economic growth," she said during the inauguration of the Indonesian Pavilion at the China ASEAN Expo 2024.
Mardyana hopes that Pertamina will continue involving and supporting its fostered MSMEs to be at the forefront of Indonesia's trade, particularly in exports. She also urged Pertamina to not only mentor existing MSMEs but also to foster new ones and help them become even better exporters.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, the Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, expressed his appreciation for the innovation and creativity displayed by the MSMEs. With continuous innovation, the position of Pertamina's fostered MSME products is becoming stronger in international markets.
"In addition to participating in retail exhibitions, Pertamina's fostered MSMEs are also engaging in Business Matching activities, a Business-to-Business (B2B) process that opens new collaboration opportunities with business players from China and other ASEAN countries. This is concrete proof that Indonesian local products can compete globally and contribute to the national economy," Fadjar said.
Fadjar emphasized that Pertamina's participation in CAEXPO 2024, by bringing products from its fostered MSME partners, can fulfill market demand in China and strengthen Indonesian local products’ position globally. This participation reflects Pertamina's commitment to supporting Indonesia's economic development through MSME empowerment.
