Jakarta, September 15, 2023 - PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to promote its Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) development to achieve global recognition by penetrating international markets.
One of its initiatives involves engaging three outstanding MSMEs in the national exhibition "Kriya Nusantara" (Kriyanusa) 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center from September 13 to 17. This exhibition serves as a strategic platform for promoting craft products from various regions in Indonesia, forming part of a broader strategy to boost market interest in regional craftsmanship.
"Pertamina's participation in the Kriyanusa 2023 event reflects our commitment to support and develop Indonesian MSMEs. Craftsmanship represents one of Indonesia's traditional crafts, with potential for both the domestic and international markets," stated Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina.
Pertamina runs mentorship and support programs aimed at helping MSMEs go global. Exhibitions, as a routine mentorship program, are instrumental as they provide a promotional platform for these enterprises. Additionally, they enable direct relationship-building with consumers.
One of the MSMEs participating in Kriyanusa is Azizah Songket. Evan Setiawan, the owner of Azizah Songket, expressed enthusiasm about their participation in Kriyanusa 2023. "We are showcasing several songket fabrics that celebrate local wisdom through our 'pineapple motif.' This pattern was chosen because Prabumulih is known as the Pineapple City. The selection of this pattern from Prabumulih's songket and the issuance of an Intellectual Property Rights certificate by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights demonstrate how Prabumulih's songket contributes to enriching Palembang’s songket overall heritage," he explained.
Meanwhile, Yuni Rahma Fitri, the jewelry designer and owner of Fitri Designs Jewellery, has successfully penetrated markets in Japan, Denmark, and Malaysia with her products. Her MSME produces women's accessories using high-quality materials such as pearls, jade, amethyst, aquamarine, and other precious gemstones.
"Our participation in this exhibition is expected to attract new customers, thereby opening up broader market opportunities," said Yuni Rahma Fitri, who has authored a book titled "1001 Precious Gemstone Accessories: Encyclopedia and Craft Tutorial."
Another MSME involved in KRIYA is Jokotolle Collection, a producer of hand-drawn batik from Madura and Gentongan batik. This MSME has expanded its reach to Japan, the United States, Malaysia, and Singapore, following consumer interest in the vibrant designs, patterns, and colors of Madura batik.
Pertamina's efforts in developing MSMEs align with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 8 implementation, which aims to help its partner MSMEs grow rapidly, level up, and go global.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
