Lombok, 25 September 2024 – Lombok Praya International Airport has become the main gateway for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024, bringing together fans of the most prestigious motorcycle racing event. The event will take place at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit on 27-29 September 2024.
The thrill of the race at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit is already felt at Lombok Praya Airport Lombok Praya Airport. A design featuring the distinctive woven ikat pattern of the Sasak Tribe, which mirrors the run-off area of the circuit between the 15th and 16th turns, has been displayed at one of the arrival areas at the airport.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina has deliberately created a racing atmosphere since the tourists arrived. This initiative celebrates the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia while welcoming tourists and world-class racers arriving in Lombok.
“We hope Pertamina’s support for this international racing event will be a magnet for Indonesian tourism. At the same time, Indonesians can utilize this event to expand their networks, gain experiences, and enjoy world-class entertainment,” Fadjar explained.
Domestic and international tourists have been eager to capture moments with displays of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team riders Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi, which have become popular photo spots.
Rudy Ferdian, a tourist from Denpasar, Bali, expressed his enthusiasm for watching his favorite rider compete in the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024. It will be his third opportunity to see his idol race at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.
“I am rooting for Marc Marquez. Although he has not been able to conquer the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit since 2022, I hope he can make it to the podium this year,” said Rudy on Tuesday, 24 September 2024.
He believes this MotoGP season competition is intense, with teams slowly finding their rhythm, especially at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, which has consistently crowned different winners.
“I cannot wait to see who lifts the trophy on the top podium. The Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit offers a real opportunity for the racers to become champions,” said the 35-year-old enthusiastically.
Meidy, who is vacationing with her family, also expressed excitement about the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024 in Lombok. She hopes international events at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit will be promoted even more.
“Each year, the number of visitors should continue to grow, so the infrastructure around the racing venue needs further improvement, from accommodations to culinary options, all at affordable prices, to attract more local tourists to watch the MotoGP race,” Meidy said.
To further boost visitor enthusiasm, tomorrow (Wednesday), 25 September 2024, a parade around Mataram will be held. The parade will feature 12 national and international riders, including Marc Marquez, Jorge Martin, Pedro Acosta, Enea Bastianini, Alex Rins, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Jack Miller, Aleix Espargaro, Raul Fernandez, Luca Marini, and Mario Suryo Aji.
