Makassar, May 11, 2024 - As a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE), PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to support community economic growth acceleration, including rural communities in transmigration areas across various regions.
Pertamina's commitment has been appreciated and acknowledged by the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration for contributing to the TJSL Program, which promotes transmigration areas in Indonesia.
Pertamina's tangible steps in accelerating economic growth in transmigration areas include community development in Telang Village, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra through the cultivation of oyster mushrooms. Pertamina provides guidance and empowerment to residents to cultivate oyster mushrooms. Through this program, it is hoped that residents can become self-reliant in entrepreneurship, thus enhancing their welfare.
In other transmigration areas, Pertamina also provides guidance and empowerment to communities in the transmigration area of Bukit Village, Karangsem Regency, Bali Province, through the development of Women's MSMEs in the pastry business, coconut oil production, and satay skewer production, which are potential businesses in the area.
This appreciation was directly presented by the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions & Transmigration, Dr. (HC) Drs. A. Halim Iskandar, M.Pd at the 2024 Transmigration Coordination Meeting in Makassar last Monday (06/05).

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, added that the TJSL Program is one of Pertamina’s ways to implement sustainability to achieve sustainable development goals, especially in villages according to the government's targets.
"In this program, Pertamina supports communities in transmigration areas to create and develop economies so that people in those areas can gain employment opportunities and achieve economic self-sufficiency," said Fadjar.
Besides accelerating transmigration areas, Fadjar stated that Pertamina also developed the Desa Energi Berdikari (Independent Energi Village/DEB) program to provide access to Renewable Energy (NRE) to rural communities as a solution to the increasing energy needs of the community. The DEB program is spread across 85 villages throughout Indonesia.
"In its implementation, Pertamina collaborates with various elements of society, as Pertamina believes that clean and easily accessible energy will pave the way for economic development and community empowerment towards sustainable independence," concluded Fadjar.
