October 3, 2024 – President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, has once again made a significant achievement by securing the 47th spot on the Fortune Most Powerful Women 2024 list. It marks a notable leap from her 67th position last year, showcasing her strong leadership in driving Pertamina to its best performance. As the sole representative from Indonesia, Nicke has successfully elevated Pertamina to a world-class rank energy company.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that this recognition from a leading international media highlights Nicke Widyawati’s capability as a top global female business leader. "Under her leadership, Pertamina has achieved numerous significant milestones," Fadjar said.
He added that Nicke also appreciates the support and efforts of Pertamina's employees, which have enabled the company to operate successfully across all sectors.
Among Pertamina's innovations under Nicke’s leadership is digital transformation, which has improved business efficiency and effectiveness. Pertamina is also actively developing various clean energy sources, such as geothermal, biofuels, and solar energy, following its commitment to addressing climate change and supporting Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission target.
In addition, the company has expanded its global business reach, forming partnerships with international business partners and expanding its operations to several countries. These efforts aim to bolster national energy security through the "Bring The Barrels Home" program.
By the end of 2023, Pertamina also recorded its highest-ever financial performance, achieving a total profit of US$ 4.77 billion, equivalent to approximately IDR 72.7 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 15,255 per US$). This profit represents a 17% increase compared to the 2022 profit.
