Jakarta, March 4, 2023 - Since the fire was successfully extinguished, PT Pertamina (Persero)'s operations at the Plumpang Fuel Terminal, Jakarta, have been running normally. Pertamina guarantees that fuel and LPG supplies are sufficient.
The President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, at a press conference at the Central Pertamina Hospital on Saturday (4/3), said that to maintain supply stability, fuel and LPG supplies were also deployed from the nearest terminal.
"It is confirmed that there are no queues at petrol stations. Thus, there is no need for panic buying. Fuel stocks in Jakarta, Banten, and West Java are sufficient," explained Nicke.
Nicke further expressed her appreciation for the parties' cooperation in handling the incident, "Thank you to all parties, the National Police Chief, the Commander in Chief, the Minister of SOE, and the Director General of Energy and Mineral Resources. Also to the Vice President of Indonesia who has given great attention to affected residents," she said.
To investigate the incident's causes, Pertamina has coordinated intensely with law enforcement and formed a joint team. Investigations are carried out so that similar incidents will not happen again.
Nicke said the estimated losses were also still being evaluated along with the investigation. The investigation results will become a supporting document for Pertamina's follow-up actions in evaluating all assets for better management.**
