Jakarta, June 9, 2024 - Pertamax Turbo supports Team WRT driver Sean Gelael in the 24 Hours of Le Mans event. It marks his fourth season in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Sean Gelael continues his journey with Team WRT #31, now competing in the LMGT3 class. In the new class, his realistic target with WRT is to consistently secure top positions despite the strong competition from other well-established teams in the GT3 class.
The scrutineering session, or vehicle inspection, began on Friday (7/6), followed by two Test Day sessions on Sunday. The 24 Hours of Le Mans race will be broadcast live on KUY Entertainment's YouTube channel and www.sean-gelael.com on Saturday (15/6), starting at 9:00 PM WIB.
“We are working hard to win this race. The collaboration with Pertamax Turbo will make Indonesia's eco-friendly fuel more recognized worldwide,” said Sean on Sunday (9/6/2024).
As a Silver category driver, Sean bridges the performance gap between Darren Leung (Bronze) and Augusto Farfus (Platinum). His new teammates and the new class will test Sean’s maturity as a sports car driver.
Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting, stated they support national drivers like Sean Gelael to compete in world-class races. The collaboration between Pertamax Turbo and Sean Gelael can increase global awareness of environmentally friendly fuel products.
“Pertamax Turbo will be promoted by Indonesian automotive talent who has gained international recognition. Pertamina showcases Pertamax Turbo products to enhance their recognition on the global stage,” said Irto.
Irto continued, highlighting that Pertamax Turbo's quality, with RON 98, competes well with other fuels in racing events. Pertamax Turbo not only meets the needs of high-tech gasoline engines but also reduces emissions as it complies with EURO 4 standards.
“Pertamax Turbo also meets the fuel needs of sports cars and is highly efficient,” Irto added.
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, emphasized that Pertamina Patra Niaga’s initiative is fully supported to not only introduce world-class Pertamina products but also to demonstrate that Indonesian nationals can excel in the global automotive arena.
“Pertamax Turbo and Sean Gelael are two Indonesian prides that can excel globally through Quality and Achievement,” said Fadjar.
