Bali, April 30, 2024 – PT Pertamina Bina Medika – Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), a state-owned hospital holding company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SingHealth, the largest public healthcare group in Singapore, regarding the cross-sharing of clinical practices, innovations, and training to improve the quality of healthcare services.
The MoU was signed by the President Director of IHC, Dr. Mira Dyah Wahyuni, MARS, and Prof. Ng Wai Hoe, CEO of SingHealth Group, at The Meru Bali, witnessed by the Minister of Health of Singapore, Mr. Ong Ye Kung, who specially attended during his visit accompanying the Prime Minister of Singapore in Bogor. Accompanied by Prof. Kenneth Kwek, CEO of Singapore General Hospital (SGH), as well as representatives from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia.
With acute hospitals, national specialty centers, community hospitals, and polyclinics, SingHealth has a strong reputation for providing high-quality healthcare services. For instance, Singapore SGH, the largest acute tertiary hospital in SingHealth in Singapore, provides comprehensive patient-centered care with over 50 clinical specializations on its campus and ranked 11th in the world in 2024, according to Newsweek magazine. Through this MoU, IHC will gain access to SingHealth's knowledge and expertise in various, areas such as hospital management, staff training, as well as research and development.
With this collaboration, it is hoped that IHC's position, especially Bali International Hospital (BIH), will become stronger as a medical tourism destination. This collaboration encompasses enhancing clinical capacity building, transforming nursing care services, and patient journeys.

The collaboration will target three strategic priority areas. The first is Clinical Excellence, emphasizing the importance of quality, patient safety, and evidence-based practice research. The second is Operational Excellence, focusing on enhancing customer experience through innovation and transformation. Lastly, People Excellence will concentrate on the sustainable development of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and management.
It also includes initiatives such as training for doctors and nurses, joint research, management of complex cases, as well as collaborative activities in medical education and professional development.
