Bali, September 20, 2024 – The Human Capital function is vital in maintaining business growth sustainability to achieve the company's set targets by creating an inclusive and harmonious work environment and culture.
To realize this, Pertamina, in collaboration with the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI), held an event titled Employee & Industrial Relations Conference (EIRC) 2024, which took place from September 19-20, 2024, at The Patra Resort & Villas, Bali. In its second year, the event carries the theme "Empowering The Future Workforce: Innovation, Resilience & Employee Well-Being To Create A Respectful Workplace."
The Deputy for Human Resources, Technology, and Information of the Ministry of SOEs, Tedi Bharata, stated that the EIRC 2024 forum aligns with the ongoing transformation and improvements within SOEs, including governance, business processes, and human resources. According to him, industrial & employee relations are crucial components in human resource development.
He added that the Ministry of SOEs is transforming human capital architecture, focusing on how leadership and management foster harmonious relationships and synergy with employees.
“We hope SOEs, including their subsidiaries and affiliates, can build harmonious relationships with their employees. This will be key to driving better company performance,” Tedi said.
On this occasion, Tedi also advised all SOEs in the country to support one another to help foster synergy that will further enhance SOEs' role as value creators and agents of development, actively supporting national economic growth and social welfare.
"FHCI is our hope to act as a catalyst in bridging better communication, serving as a learning or sharing session platform among SOEs, and delivering SOE programs to ensure synergy between them to realize a sustainable future. The Ministry of SOEs will embrace all SOEs to build strong cooperation through FHCI," concluded Tedi.
The Chairman of FHCI, Agus Dwi Handaya, added that this event is a manifestation of the collaboration between the Ministry of SOEs, FHCI, and Pertamina, particularly in fostering a harmonious relationship between company management and all employees, aiming to find a balance between worker welfare and company performance improvement.
Meanwhile, the Director of Human Resources of Pertamina, who also serves as Head of Section 4 Employee & Industrial Relations and FHCI Steering Committee Coordinator, M. Erry Sugiharto, explained that EIRC 2024 provides a platform to identify, study, and discuss issues in industrial relations between management and employees.
“The hope is that today we can explore various industrial relations issues between employers and employees to find the best solutions from all relevant stakeholders to realize the company's aspirations,” said M. Erry Sugiharto.
In conclusion, industrial relations serve as the main tool in balancing the interests of employers and employees, ensuring stability and harmony, which is expected to boost productivity and foster a high-performance culture.
