Makassar, June 20, 2023 - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi has deposited the Vehicle Fuel Tax (PBBKB) for the year 2022 to 6 Provincial Governments in Sulawesi, namely South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and Gorontalo, with a total value of IDR 1.9 trillion.
PBBKB is a tax on all liquid or gas fuel utilization for motor vehicles and heavy equipment. In this regard, Pertamina is subject to PBBKB rates for specific types of subsidized fuel at 5%, general transportation and industrial fuel at 7.50%, general industrial sector fuel at 1.29%, and general mining and forestry fuel at 6.75%.
Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, Area Manager of Communication, Relations, and CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region, stated that Pertamina is a company that complies with taxes. In detail, Fahrougi explained that the highest PBBKB deposit in 2022 was in South Sulawesi Province, amounting to IDR 824 billion, followed by Southeast Sulawesi Province with IDR 382 billion, Central Sulawesi Province with IDR 280.8 billion, North Sulawesi Province with IDR 280.7 billion, Gorontalo Province with IDR 89 billion, and West Sulawesi Province with IDR 78 billion.
Furthermore, Fahrougi added that Pertamina's presence not only delivers energy to the public but also regularly contributes to the Regional Original Income (Pendapatan Asli Daerah or PAD) and indirectly promotes regional infrastructure development.
"The high tax contributions to the government are certainly not detached from the community’s support, who consistently use Pertamina's superior fuel products, both subsidized and non-subsidized," he stated.
Fahrougi also expressed appreciation and gratitude to the communities throughout the Sulawesi region who have chosen to use quality and environmentally friendly fuel products from Pertamina. He hopes that the public's interest in using quality fuels such as Pertamax Series and Dex Series will continue to increase as it will directly impact tax contributions and enhance respective provincial regions’ development.
In line with that, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), stated that Pertamina continues to educate the public to switch to using quality and environmentally friendly fuels. The company is also developing flagship products as needed according to technological advancements.
"Innovations in products are continuously carried out to fulfill consumer needs," said Fadjar.
