Jakarta, March 5, 2023 - PT Pertamina (Persero)’s Directors accompanied President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo while visiting residents affected by the Plumpang Fuel Terminal incident, who took refuge at the Rasela RPTRA Post, North Jakarta, Sunday (5/3).
The President and Mrs. Iriana witnessed the conditions and assisted the residents in the evacuation tents. During the visit, the President and Mrs. Iriana expressed condolences to the victims. The President hopes the victims will be patient and steadfast through the disaster.
After inspecting the evacuation sites, the President gave directions to immediately find a solution regarding the incident at the Plumpang Fuel Terminal, North Jakarta, last Friday (3/3). The President instructed to evaluate facilities that are a potential danger close to residential areas.
"I have ordered the Minister of SOE and the Governor of DKI to find a solution to the Plumpang incident. Especially since this is a dangerous zone, it can no longer be habitable, but there must be a solution," said the President in his statement to the media.
Responding to the President's instruction, the President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, said that Pertamina would immediately follow the directive by coordinating with related parties.
"We will immediately evaluate and coordinate with the Ministry of SOE and the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta to find the best solution," said Nicke at the location of the Rasela RPTRA Post after the President's visit.
Currently, Pertamina is prioritizing assistance to victims and families. Nicke conveyed Pertamina's commitment that Pertamina would bear the costs of treatment, compensation, and help needed by affected residents.
Also attending were the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendi, the Minister of SOE, Erick Thohir, Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. TNI, Suharyanto, and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono.
