Pertamina Enhances Digitalization Efforts to Achieve Business Targets at FORDIGI Summit 2023

Jakarta, September 27, 2023 - In pursuit of a more aggressive and efficient business approach, PT Pertamina (Persero) is optimizing its operational performance by strengthening digitalization across its entire business spectrum, including upstream to downstream operations and marketing. At Forum Digital BUMN (FORDIGI) Summit 2023, Pertamina conveyed its commitment to conduct business by utilizing digital technology.

During the FORDIGI Summit 2023 event in Jakarta on September 26-27, 2023, the Minister of SOE, Erick Thohir, emphasized Indonesia's interest in fostering SOE's human resources proficiency in digital technology.

"In the future, Indonesian SOE will require twenty percent of digital talent capable of accelerating the SOE digital transformation," he stated during his virtual address at the FORDIGI Summit at Hotel Mulia on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Recognizing the importance of digital acceleration, Pertamina is actively advancing digital technology utilization in various aspects of its business.

During the presentation session, The Director of Business Support of Pertamina, Erry Widiastono, explained that this digital optimization would support the operational targets and financial efficiency achievement. 

In upstream sector, digital technology is used throughout the end-to-end business process. "The current supply chain has embraced digital technology to enhance crude oil lifting, mitigate unplanned shutdowns, and reduce production losses," Erry explained.

In refining and petrochemical sectors, digitalization plays a crucial role in project infrastructure, crude oil, product, and refinery management.

As for the marketing and distribution sector, Pertamina has implemented digitalization at its petrol stations, including automating fuel ordering and monitoring fuel deliveries to ensure better stock availability.

Furthermore, digital transformation has even applied to minor aspects such as Pertamina employees' duty assignments. Currently, travel activities for Pertamina's 35,000 employees can be monitored in real-time by management using a digital travel management application, providing transparency in each employee's activities.

"To support the competency of our workforce in utilizing technology, Pertamina has established the MITA community (Pertamina Digital) to enhance the digital role within the company," Erry added.
