Jakarta, August 6, 2024 - PT Pertamina (Persero) remains firmly established as the only Indonesian company capable of competing among the world's leading companies, ranking 165th in the Fortune 500 Global. Pertamina has consistently remained among global companies for ten years. With a revenue of USD 75.79 billion in 2023, Pertamina is also ranked 3rd in the 2024 Southeast Asia Fortune list.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, revealed that international media outlet Fortune has once again included Pertamina in its list of 500 global companies. Pertamina's position as a state-owned enterprise and a leading energy company in Indonesia, operating from upstream, processing, to downstream, is strategically supporting the government's policy of serving Indonesia's energy needs.
"As a state-owned enterprise, Pertamina will continue to ensure the security and affordability of energy, which is the government's top priority, and will keep pushing for energy decarbonization initiatives," said Fadjar.
In addition to recording a revenue of USD 75.79 billion in 2023, Pertamina also posted a positive performance with a total profit of USD 4.77 billion, an increase of 17% compared to 2022.
According to Fadjar, international recognition of the company's performance is also proven in its ESG ranking. Based on the ESG Rating Agency Sustainalytics, Pertamina is ranked number one in the world in the Integrated Oil and Gas sub-industry with the highest score, leading 61 companies globally. Pertamina's score, as of December 1, 2023, is 20.7 (Medium Risk), increased from the previous 22.1 (Medium Risk). A lower Sustainalytics score indicates a better risk level.
"Global recognition is the result of hard work across all business lines of the company, overcoming various challenges amid uncertain global dynamics, and continuing to make breakthroughs in the energy transition era," concluded Fadjar.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
