Semarang, November 17, 2023 - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java fully supports the steps taken by the Central Java Regional Police (Polda Jateng) in uncovering individuals hoarding subsidized Bio Solar type fuel in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java.
Brasto Galih Nugroho, Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java, expressed appreciation and full support for the efforts made by Polda Jateng.
"We express our highest appreciation to Polda Jateng for collaborating with Pertamina and assisting in uncovering the subsidized fuel misuse by irresponsible parties. The misuse by these irresponsible parties is detrimental to the country and citizens entitled to subsidized fuel products," Brasto said.
According to Polda Jateng's information, the police successfully seized approximately 9,000 liters of subsidized fuel stored in Kempu or Tandon, along with other evidence, including four truck units, two pump tools, and five empty tanks in a hoarding warehouse located in Purwantoro sub-district, Wonogiri Regency.
The alleged modus operandi involves repeated purchases by abusing other people's QR codes at petrol stations in the Wonogiri area.
Currently, the police are investigating one of the petrol stations in Wonogiri where the perpetrator purchases subsidized Bio Solar fuel.
"In response to this incident, as support for the police investigation, Pertamina has imposed sanctions on the gas station by discontinuing the sale of subsidized Bio Solar fuel until the end of the year," Brasto stated.
Similarly, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), separately expressed appreciation for law enforcement authorities, including the National Police (Polri) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), as well as other parties consistently uncovering and taking strict action against deviations and misuse of subsidized fuel and LPG.
"The actions taken by Law Enforcement Officials and the guidance by Pertamina are proof of our joint commitment to ensure targeted energy distribution and provide education to the community and partner distribution institutions so that together we can achieve energy distribution according to regulations," Fadjar said.
In addition, Pertamina continues its efforts to encourage and educate the public so that they can wisely use subsidized products.
Pertamina also encourages vehicle owners to register their vehicles at subsiditepat.mypertamina.id to prevent data misuse by irresponsible parties and to support targeted subsidies. People without mobile phones visit the registration locations provided at Pertamina petrol stations.
The public is expected to purchase fuel at official Pertamina outlets (petrol stations and Pertashop) that guarantee quality and safety to avoid repeated refueling and hoarding, as fuel is a hazardous material that can cause fires and loss of life.
Strict action against hoarders, industrial or individual, who divert subsidized fuel in Article 55 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation states that anyone misusing the transportation and/or trade of government-subsidized fuel, gas, and/or liquefied petroleum gas is punishable by a maximum imprisonment of six years and a fine of up to IDR 60 billion.
If there are indications of fraud, the public is encouraged to immediately report to law enforcement authorities or through the Pertamina Call Center (PCC) at 135.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement.
