Bandung, May 6, 2024 - Pertamina Goes To Campus 2024 (PGTC) was officially opened by the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, and the Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., at the West Hall of ITB, Bandung, on Monday, May 6, 2024.
The President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, revealed that Pertamina Goes To Campus aims to increase awareness of Pertamina's role in the energy sector and development, enhance engagement and collaboration between Pertamina and the academic sector, and raise awareness about Pertamina's business lines.
"The challenges faced by Indonesia concerning energy are increasingly difficult. We all need to move together because it cannot be solved solely by the Government or companies; the academic sector also has a significant role. Contribution from everyone, including students, is needed," she said.
The Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung, Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D., appreciated Pertamina's initiative in organizing the PGTC event, especially with the inaugural event held at the ITB campus. It proves that Pertamina remains committed to education in Indonesia.
She expressed that Pertamina and ITB are strengthening their synergy and cooperation. "We hope that the synergy between ITB and Pertamina continues to strengthen and grow, especially regarding biodiesel utilization and other developments. And importantly, Pertamina has entrusted ITB to assist in building the Research and Molecular Engineering Building. We should emulate Pertamina's openness in inviting collaboration from all parties, which is very inspiring," she concluded.
PGTC 2024 will be held until September 2024 across 15 universities in Indonesia. The event consists of three main activities: First, Energizing Talks comprising keynote speeches, panel discussions, and Innovation Insights in the energy, technology, economic, and social sectors.
Second, Pertamina Exhibition Clusters featuring areas and activation activities of Pertamina's programs or business units or achievements of universities in the form of booths or pavilions. The displays are divided into three clusters: Information Center, Innovation & Collaboration Center.
Third, the Sustainability Competition is divided into two categories: Essay Competition and Video Competition, which aims to stimulate interest and educate the younger generation about environmentally friendly energy industries.
