Jakarta, May 2, 2024 - PT Pertamina (Persero) is organizing the Pertamina Goes to Campus (PGTC) event at 15 leading campuses in Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Bali, and Sulawesi. This annual routine event will be held from May to October 2024 to nurture outstanding student talents in facing the energy trilemma.
The first activity and Kick-off PGTC will be held at the Institut Teknologi Bandung on May 6, 2024. Subsequently, it will continue to the following campuses.
The PGTC 2024 activities adopt the "Energizing the Future Together" theme which represents Pertamina's commitment to educate the future generation about the energy trilemma, namely energy security, affordability, and environmental sustainability.
In this PGTC, Pertamina will bring six sub-holdings and interesting beneficial programs for students, including PF Science, PF Preneur, Independent Energy Village, CSR & SMEPP, Pertamuda Seed and Scale Business Idea Competition, Sobat Bumi Scholarship, as well as internship and career information at Pertamina.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, the VP of Corporate Communications of PT Pertamina (Persero), said that PGTC is Pertamina's annual program covering campuses across Indonesia. PGTC aims to enhance students' understanding of Pertamina's role in the energy sector and development.
"Through this activity, we hope Pertamina can build awareness, increase engagement, and facilitate collaboration between the company and the academic sector, providing opportunities for students to interact directly with energy industry professionals and experts, and broaden their knowledge and insights into energy challenges and opportunities. Meanwhile, Pertamina also benefits from the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas brought by students through this collaboration," said Fadjar.
Fadjar added that PGTC activities are part of a collaborative approach to address energy trilemma challenges. Pertamina has implemented concrete steps to respond to these challenges and invites the academic community to collaborate towards sustainable energy in Indonesia.
Moreover, addressing energy trilemma challenges can also maintain the balance between energy availability and affordability.
Through PGTC, he added, students can support stakeholders in maintaining energy governance in Indonesia. "Therefore, awareness of energy governance in Indonesia needs to be built among the younger generation who will continue the leadership relay in energy management in Indonesia," he explained.
During the PGTC 2024 roadshow, discussion sessions will be opened at each campus among students, academics, practitioners, observers, and policymakers in the energy sector. The aim is to exchange insights and knowledge about energy management. Additionally, Pertamina will invite several guest stars to liven up the event and provide various prizes worth tens of millions of rupiah.
