Den Haag, September 11, 2022 - Assisting MSMEs to go global is the highest coaching program for MSMEs to upgrade, a priority activity for the Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL) from the Ministry of SOEs. Currently, Pertamina records 455 MSMEs under its guidance that have gone global.
Deputy of HR, Technology, and Information of KBUMN, Tedi Bharata, stated that the Ministry of SOEs and SOEs encourages Indonesian MSMEs to keep developing through various coaching programs. Thus, they could compete with products from abroad.
"SOE consistently includes Indonesian MSMEs with good quality products to participate in international exhibitions as a promotional medium for our MSME products," said Tedi.
In the scheme, Pertamina has arranged steps to encourage MSMEs to upgrade through the UMK Academy, which provides guidance in four stages, Go Modern, Go Digital, Go Online, and Go Global.
One of the MSMEs assisted by Pertamina that has gone global is Waroeng Disabilitas Sasirangan, from Balikpapan, Kalimantan. Pertamina had also brought various products to the 2022 Tong Tong Fair in the Netherlands. "I am very happy to participate in the exhibition in the Netherlands, thanks to Allah SWT and Pertamina as an intermediary," said Norhidayah, owner of Waroeng Disabilitas Sasirangan.
Norhidayah is proud that the products by children with disabilities, such as clothes and accessories from traditional sasirangan fabrics, can enter the international level, thus increasing enthusiasm and confidence that children with special needs made products can compete internationally.
Besides Norhidayah, there is also Ismawati, the owner of Ima Ecoprint from Dumai Riau, who is also very proud that her products can reach the land of windmills. "Besides being sold in Indonesia, many of my products get orders from the neighboring country, Malaysia," she said.
Ismawati hopes that in the future, Pertamina's fostered partner products will always be included in every international exhibition abroad so that they can develop business internationally.
VP of CSR & SMEPP Management of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, revealed that Pertamina had taken steps by providing assistance for its fostered MSME players to grow with a larger market share and compete in the global arena.
"Pertamina has the UMK Academy program, where MSME actors are grouped based on their capabilities, which are adjusted to the MSME roadmap that is fostered so that monitoring can be carried out more easily and measurably," she said.
The Go Global UMK Academy class is aimed at fostered MSMEs who are prepared to export to the global market by giving briefing materials on pricing strategies, feasibility to start exports, introduction to the global market, and optimizing sustainable production for exports and the importance of insightful environmental business.
"Pertamina will continue to increase the participation of its fostered partners to take part in exhibitions held both domestic and international. Thus, local products have a place in the global market, and there is a multiplier effect on the MSME economy and nationally," Fajriyah concluded.
Pertamina continues to support the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) achievement and SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), particularly Point 8, namely decent work and economic growth, which is realized through funding and MSME development programs.
It is part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) to realize economic benefits in the community and drive the national economy. Through MSME programs and the spirit of Energizing Your Future, Pertamina strives to encourage every Foster Partner to become upgraded and Go Global MSME.**
