Jakarta, August 12, 2023 - Pertamina continues to take firm action against unauthorized petrol stations and LPG agents involved in illegal refilling activities. Pertamina also charges sanctions on rogue petrol stations engaged in fuel smuggling.
Pertamina, through Pertamina Patra Niaga, has taken decisive measures by terminating business relationships (PHU).
The sanctions were given following the four illegal fuel cases uncovered by the North Sumatra Regional Police, Tanjung Balai Police Resort, and Medan Metropolitan Police. The North Sumatra Police and their teams seized dozen of tons of illegal fuel. Additionally, the Medan Metropolitan Police arrested the station's owner involved in refilling subsidized gas cylinders on Cempaka Street, Delitua Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency, on Saturday (August 5).
Freddy Anwar, the Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga for the Northern Sumatra Region, stated in Medan that this success assisted Pertamina Patra Niaga in efficiently distributing subsidized fuel and LPG to the intended recipients, safeguarding the eligible individual's rights in the community.
"We fully support the efforts and measures of the police in overseeing the distribution of subsidized fuel and LPG. We are ready to collaborate to ensure that these subsidized products truly benefit the deserving public," he explained.
Freddy urged the public to use subsidized fuel and LPG wisely.
"The illegal fuel activities and misusing subsidized LPG greatly harm society. Let's collectively monitor and supervise the subsidized energy resources distribution," he added.
In West Sumatra, Pertamina has also imposed sanctions on Distributor/Agents and Sub-Distributor/Gas Cylinder Stations selling 3 kg LPG in Suka Damai, Nagari Panti Village, Panti Subdistrict, Pasaman Regency. The issued sanctions follow the community's report regarding the 3 kg subsidized LPG sold above the regulated price at Rika Yulianti's station in Suka Damai, Panti.
"We received reports from the community and subsequently investigated the station. Additionally, we cross-checked the agents supplying 3 kg LPG to that station. The investigation revealed that the station was selling above the price set by West Sumatra Governor's Decree No. 95/2014 at Rp 18,600, with Pangkalan Rika Yulianti selling a single 3 kg LPG cylinder at a price ranging from Rp 22,000 to Rp 23,000," explained Narotama Aulia Fazri, the Sales Area Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga for the West Sumatra region, on Saturday (August 12).
Narotama further explained that they had instructed sanctions against the distributor/agent supplying the station, halting the 3 kg LPG supply for one month in September.
Furthermore, Narotama assessed that the PSO (Public Service Obligation) LPG Agent, PT Pincuran Sembilan Sembilan, had neglected their duty in supervising the station under their contract and oversight. Consequently, Narotama imposed sanctions on the agent, involving a deduction of 1,120 cylinders for September, following the monthly allocation for Pangkalan Rika Yulianti.
"If the station continues to violate regulations in the future, the Business Relationship Termination (PHU) sanction will be applied immediately to Pangkalan Rika Yulianti, and the allocation of 1,120 cylinders of 3 kg LPG to PT Pincuran Sembilan Sembilan will be permanently discontinued by Pertamina. Therefore, the agent must responsibly supervise their station following the contract," Narotama emphasized.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, appreciates the police for swiftly apprehending criminals detrimental to the nation and society.
"We commend the swift action of the police in apprehending those involved in illegal refilling and smuggling. Pertamina will not tolerate rogue agents and petrol stations," Fadjar stated.
Fadjar added that if the public suspects or observes any misuse of Subsidized Fuel or Subsidized LPG, they can report it to law enforcement authorities and the Pertamina Call Center at 135 for appropriate follow-up actions.**
