Jakarta, August 8, 2024 - PT Pertamina (Persero) has become the most significant contributor of state-owned enterprise (SOE) tax payments to the government throughout 2023.
The Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, appreciated the 20 SOEs that contributed the most tax to the state in 2023. PT Pertamina (Persero) ranked highest with a tax payment of 224.530 billion, equivalent to IDR 224.53 trillion.
“The ongoing SOE transformation has increased the company's performance and productivity. Alhamdulillah, by continuously improving performance, SOEs can make a significant contribution to government tax payments. This achievement is also inseparable from the hard work of all Commissioners, Directors, and all SOE personnel. The Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, said that Pertamina is committed to fulfilling its obligations as an SOE by being responsible for tax payments to the government. It is also part of the company’s Good Corporate Governance (GCG) implementation.
“This is part of Pertamina's manifestation of being present for the nation through its commitment to tax payments to the government, considering that taxes are an important instrument for national economic growth,” explained Fadjar.
The tax appreciation award was organized by the Directorate General of Taxes of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance (DJP Kemenkeu) to commemorate National Tax Day 2024, held on July 26, 2024, in Jakarta.
