Pertamina Moves Quickly to Distribute Basic Food Aid and Send Medical Team for Cianjur Earthquake Victims

November 22, 2022 - PT Pertamina moved quickly to respond to the earthquake in the Cianjur area, West Java, on Monday (21/11). Pertamina distributed aid to the disaster victims.

Acting VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Heppy Wulansari, said Pertamina's aid included 40 canisters of 12 Kg Bright Gas for cooking equipment, 68 boxes of mineral water, 10 boxes of instant noodles, two boxes of biscuits, two boxes of children's milk, and 4 boxes of coffee. Moreover, there are also 19 boxes of baby diapers. The aid for the Cianjur earthquake victims was handed over directly by the VP of CSR and SMEPP of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, to the Cianjur Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) on Tuesday (22/11/2022).

"The aid we have provided is the first stage of our quick response to the victims. We will continue to distribute assistance and support according to what the community needs from this disaster," said Heppy.

For basic food, said Heppy, at this early stage, Pertamina will also distribute 466 kg of rice, 500 liters of cooking oil, 250 kg of eggs, 250 boxes of instant noodles, 250 boxes of mineral water, and 255 boxes of biscuits. Pertamina will also distribute soap and shampoo for disaster victims bathing and cleaning needs, as well as 110 packs of tarpaulin. All aid is expected to arrive in Cianjur on Tuesday (22/11).

Heppy continued that Pertamina also plans to distribute health and safety equipment. Namely, 105 packs of bedding (mattresses, blankets, and tarpaulins) and 80 packs of baby equipment (diapers, baby clothes, and sanitary pads).

"This is the Pertamina Peduli Team's form of concern. We will also coordinate assistance, both from the company and Pertamina officers who want to assist victims affected by the Cianjur earthquake," said Heppy.

Furthermore, in the early stages of this disaster response, Pertamina, through PT Pertamina Bina Medika, also sent several medical teams, ambulances, and medicines for the Cianjur disaster victims. Some doctors are prepared to work at the disaster site temporarily.

Previously, Pertamina expressed its grief and support for Cianjur and its surrounding people after the 5.6 magnitude earthquake that rocked the region on Monday (21/11). Pertamina ensures that the fuel and LPG distribution agencies' operations are running normally. Pertamina continues to carry out further checks and ensure that the fuel and LPG distribution agencies facilities in the West Java Regional area, especially Cianjur and Sukabumi, are running normally.
