Jakarta, June 8, 2023 - PT Pertamina (Persero) ensures Avtur's availability to fulfill the flight requirements for Hajj pilgrimages at 13 Hajj airports across Indonesia. Through Avtur supply and distribution by Subholding Commercial & Trading, Pertamina serves approximately 600 groups of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims' needs.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, explained that the company guarantees the Avtur availability at the Airplane Refueling Depots (DPPU), especially in serving the Hajj needs during the departure (embarkation) period from May 24 to June 22, 2023, as well as the arrival (debarkation) period from July 4 to August 3, 2023.
According to Fadjar, with the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, the quota for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in 2023 reached 221,000, doubling the Hajj flights compared to last year.
"Pertamina has prepared sufficient Avtur stocks at all DPPU Hajj embarkation points, including the new embarkation point at Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java," he said.
Fadjar added that Pertamina had ensured Avtur stocks at the 13 DPPU at Hajj embarkation airports. Namely, Aceh (Iskandar Muda Airport), Medan (Kualanamu Airport), Padang (Minangkabau Airport), Batam (Hang Nadim Airport), Palembang (Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport), Jakarta (Soekarno-Hatta Airport), Solo (Adi Sumarmo Airport), Surabaya (Juanda Airport), Banjarmasin (Syamsudin Noor Airport), Balikpapan (Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport), Makassar (Sultan Hasanuddin Airport), Lombok (Lombok Airport), and Majalengka (Kertajati Airport).
"Pertamina has mapped the Avtur needs at each DPPU and is committed to supporting the success and smoothness of the 2023 Hajj pilgrimage," Fadjar added.
Irto Ginting, Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, added that all DPPUs would work extra and have prepared measures to accommodate the increased Avtur consumption.
