Pelita Air (flight code IP), a subsidiary of Pertamina, has opened a new flight route Jakarta-Kendari-Jakarta (direct) by conducting its inaugural flight from Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Jakarta Airport (CGK) to Halu Oleo Kendari Airport (KDI) on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
This new flight route becomes the second new route opening this April, after Pelita Air previously opened the non-stop flight route Jakarta-Aceh-Jakarta on April 3, 2024, thereby increasing Pelita Air's total flight routes to 13 from the west to the east end of Indonesia.
The inaugural flight ceremony for this route was held at Halu Oleo Kendari Airport (KDI) on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, through a ribbon-cutting procession carried out by the Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism Belli Tombilli, Director of Commerce of PT Pelita Air Service Asa Perkasa, Representative of South Konawe Regency Mr. Maharayu, Head of UPBU Haluoleo Airport Mr. Sarmin, Commander of Haluoleo Air Base Colonel PNB Lilik Eko Susanto, and Manager of Haluoleo Pertamina Aviation Fuel Terminal Muhammad Hartato. Previously, the arrival of Pelita Air flight IP810 from Jakarta was welcomed with a water salute, and the passengers were greeted with welcoming dances and flower garlands.

This time, Pelita Air is reopening a new direct flight route, the Jakarta-Kendari-Jakarta route. Kendari and Southeast Sulawesi are cities and provinces in Indonesia with considerable economic potential, ranging from mining, agriculture, and fisheries to tourism. It is hoped that with the opening of the Jakarta-Kendari route, Pelita Air can further enhance accessibility by providing additional flight options from Jakarta to Kendari," said Director of Commerce of PT Pelita Air Service, Asa Perkasa.
Asa Perkasa continued that Pelita Air expresses gratitude for the support and coordination from the government through the Ministry of Transportation, the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government, the Kendari City Government, the management of Halu Oleo Kendari Airport, AirNav Indonesia Kendari branch, and various other relevant parties.
Pelita Air operates regular flight services on the Jakarta-Kendari-Jakarta route every day with a frequency of seven times a week using Airbus A320-200 aircraft with 180 seats in economy class or Silver Class. The flight schedule is as follows:

Like other Pelita Air flights, Pelita Air passengers on the Jakarta-Kendari-Jakarta route also receive free snacks, drinks, and 20 kg of free baggage. In addition, to enhance the enjoyable flying experience, all Pelita Air passengers can enjoy free entertainment accessible via smartphones, tablets, and laptops through wireless inflight entertainment (W-IFE) using the Tripper application.
To further enhance convenience, flight tickets for the Jakarta-Aceh-Jakarta route can now be booked on the Pelita Air website and mobile application, equipped with various features to facilitate, such as purchasing flight tickets, purchasing additional baggage quotas, selecting seats, ease of payment via credit card and virtual account, mobile check-in, direct connection with customer service agent "Starla", connected with in-flight entertainment facilities (wireless inflight entertainment) "Starlight", and Pelita Air product information.
Mobile check-in on the Pelita Air mobile application can be done 24 hours before departure until four hours before departure. Regarding check-in facilities, Pelita Air check-in kiosk services are also available at the check-in counters area of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal. Pelita Air check-in kiosk service hours start eight hours before the flight and close one hour before the flight schedule.
With this new route opening, there are a total of 13 destinations served by Pelita Air flights, namely Jakarta, Bali, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Padang, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Sorong, Aceh, and Kendari. In the future, Pelita Air will continue to open travel routes to other favorite tourist and business destinations in Indonesia.
